a lot of weight to lose

gmh113 · 25/04/2016 10:40

I have a lot of weight to lose. Keep thinking and half heartedly trying but not really doing anything about it. Need to make a real effort. Starting today and would love support from anyone feeling the same. (Fed up and depressed about it and dreading the summer!!)

It is, ironically, the original 'how do you eat an elephant?' question...a little bit at a time is the answer Smile

It is really disheartening thinking about losing a significant amount of weight (I have quite a bit to lose myself) but you need to focus on short-term rewards as well as the long-term goal - for example, feeling in control, noticing the significant difference that even small losses make to your overall fitness and well-being, feeling more in touch with your own body (hunger, etc)...all of these things are AS important as the resulting weight loss, as they help you forge a new relationship with your own body and how you look after it.

I started Low Carb (roughly the Bootcamp rules) last week and have lost nearly half a stone already (despite a meal out with wine) but I'm mostly amazed at the lack of hunger and hunger pangs which makes it so much easier to cope with.

Also, eating all the (delicious) greens has given my skin a lovely glow!

And I went for a power walk this morning and felt really energised.

I just know that even when the going gets tough I can at leat look myself in the eye and know that at least I've worked towards a healthier me.

What are the main things you struggle with, or make you less likely to take on the weight loss?
