i have salads for lunch, muesli and fruit for breakfast,

Do I have to buy fry light oil?

I have half an avocado mashed with pepper and lemon juice and have that with a corn cracker, and a slice of smoked salmon.

I'm at 'that age' when we 'dry up' and I've been told to up my oil intake. Seems to work.

YY to protein with meals and food combining in the evening.

Mrshoolie, do you have a recipe for your milkshake please?
I'm eating porridge made with low fat milk for breakfast these days- will try an egg option

Yeah, need more specifics. How many calories do you want to spend on breakfast? Are you concentrating on low carb, low fat, low gluten, no dairy?

I try to keep my breakfasts under 250 cals. I will alternate between overnight oats (watch the quantity of oats!), slice of Burgen bread toasted with cottage cheese and marmite, peanut butter and jam, or humous and tomatoes, boiled egg with marmite soldiers or asparagus spears, scrambled eggs done in the microwave with tomatoes, spinach, cheese, ham

Some sort of eggs everyday for breakfast. My favourite is Poached eggs and grilled tomatoes on seeded bread. Also start your day with a big glass of water.
Try to have all your carbs for breakfast and lunch and not with dinner. Grill/poach rather than fry anything.

Feta and olives are fine - it's just about monitoring your portion sizes
30g of feta is probably about right (80 calories or so) and then 6-8 olives (about 6 calories for each medium one)
However i wouldn't have it every day as they are both quite salty.....

my salads do contain feta and olives, which may not be very good calorie wise, carrot, toms and cucumber.

Ok so what are you having in your salads? And how much muesli and milk are you having?

During the week I have porridge with yoghurt and fruit then at weekends it's normally something with eggs.......

I'm having a protein shake for breakfast at the moment. Protein powder blended with kale and berries.

Any variety of egg is good. I favour low carb over low cal so often have mushroom stuffed with spinach and cream cheese or same mix wrapped I ham

Must try baked egg muffins.

I agree protein with every meal.

I have onion omelette, green soup with ham, protein veg and carb each day.

I don't tend to eat breakfast as I can't handle eating until lunchtime. I tend to have lunch at 12, a snack at 5 and tea at 8.

For those times I do have breakfast, it's normally scrambled eggs with spinach or I make avo egg cups - half an avo with a small slice cut off the bottom to keep it steady, crack an egg into the hole and bake it.

DH leaves early in the morning so he either has Greek yoghurt with raspberries and 15g oats (obviously you can cut out the oats if you are low carbing proper) or I make bacon, egg and cheese muffins - line a muffin tray with bacon, pour whisked egg mixture and any other fillings into each compartment and bake.

I have eggs for breakfast most days. My favourite is seeded bread toast with a mix of spinach (frozen heated in the microwave) spring onion and a small spoon of Philadelphia cheese topped with a poached egg. It definitely keeps me full until lunch. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast is another favourite here.

Bacon and eggs and mushrooms, all fried in butter if you are low carbing Grin

Seriously if you haven't tried it yet it's worth thinking about it. New boot camp starting 18th...more info on low carb boot camp section. Best of luck.

You need protein for breakfast. A poached egg, mushrooms, tomato, small amount of baked beans. It will help keep you fuller for longer.

You should be having protein with every meal. A slice of cheese or ham/chicken is good with lunch.
