Nice hotel with an indoor pool

Like so many others on here have had holidays cancelled but really need to get out of this house for a while.
Can anyone recommend a nice 4:5 star hotel in the south west that we could go to? No kids coming looking at September but would love a pool.

Just beware that even if there is a pool, you might not get in it. A lot of the ones we looked at were running reserved spots only for guests who had booked spa treatments.

I can't say if it was 4/5 star (couldn't have been if we were there!) but one I went to in Torquay (sp?) had the most lovely pool. Derwent or Victoria rings a bell. I think they were 3 hotels/complexes all with different price ranges.

Might be worth a look.

Not a hotel but we stayed at Watermouth Castle in aparments and they have an indoor pool which each of 7 apartments gets for 1-2 hours per day, normally 2. Had beautiful gardens just open to apartments with min-golf and crazy snooker and overlooks the harbour / coast.

When we were looking quite a few pools weren't open so do double check, having said that we booked mid July but several said pools closed until end August then. At ours pool was one family per time and changing room closed but that was better than normal for us.

We've been to TLH Derwent in Torquay, lovely pools though a bit Butlinsy - that was fine for us but if you are looking for somewhere refined rather than fun its more fun than refined. Which is the same as my children so worked for us but not for someone looking for a child free sophisticated hotel.

Reading this thread and dreaming of holidays I went on the Scarlet Hotel website. It looks great but I was a bit surprised that many of the rooms only had double beds.
A double bed is quite small for two adults. I read once that a double bed gave two adults a sleeping space of a cot !!!
I think it may be an exaggeration but not far off.
If you're used to a Super King or King size bed at home, a double bed wouldn't be great.
