Hi
I am looking to book a static caravan for a week next summer. I have a 7 year dd and want a nice caravan park that isnt too commercialised and has the main facilities like small shop and play park.
I just wondered if any had any good recommodations of a nice caravan site where I can hire a caravan.I live in North Yorkshire but dont mind travelling to anywhere in the UK!

thanks

There's a lovely one in South Wales. Llanrhidian Holiday Park. Good caravans, small shop, evening entertainment (not tacky and awful like some), a good sized play area, a pool, as well as huge amounts of space to run around. Randomly, there's also a chip shop there - which is amazing (all locally caught fish). BEach is about a 5-10 minute drive away. Can't seem to find any pictures on line for you - but I grew up in the area - and it's lovely.

I've stayed here almost every year since DD was 5yo, with my parents and my niece who is the same age as DD (now both 10yo).

It's not very big, it's right on the sea front, there's a small club/bar which has a children's club in the high season (but we've never used it, in fact only once set foot inside the clubhouse past reception!).

There are two pools - a toddler one and a deeper one. They are within a walled area which is a real sun trap.

We go to the beach most mornings and to the pool in the afternoon. In the evenings the girls like to go crabbing from the quay.

We usually eat in although there's a pub on the quay which does good food and you are close to Christchurch that has a selection of pubs, restaurants, etc.

There's a big Sainsburys about a mile away and a small shop on site for newspapers, magazines and selection of food items.

There's a good cafe on the beach and a shop and an ice-cream place.

Children need surf shoes or similar to go in the sea as there are lots of stones and ?weever fish?

We love Shorefield in the New Forset.

My family used to have a mobile home there when we were children. We went this year.

It has an indoor and outdoor pool. A kids disco in evening. A few play ground/ swing set things. Restaurant. Its in nice grounds. Clean and tidy. Near lots of nice beaches and villages.
