SMT remote learning 'SEF' scrutiny during Covid

Is it appropriate for SMT to ask for primary teaching staff to submit lesson plans and medium term plans, undertake pupil and parent questionnaires, watch teacher's pre-recorded Teams lessons and compare quality of work between children at home and key worker vulnerable children in school to assess the quality of provision we as a school are offering? As of first week back after half term.

Unions are clear that only essential elements of teaching should be happening and SMT should be reducing workload stress and anxiety not adding to it..... Our staff are too knackered, intimidated, frightened of asking questions or inexperienced to raise head above parapet and say as a group 'Hang on a minute, why is this going ahead....'

Thanks for replies. School is 'good' officially from Ofsted ( reality is quite different) Inspection not on the horizon. SMT have stopped short of official book looks and learning walks as they know the official union line on those but I can't see how these things will do anything apart from cause extra work and stress for staff. And yes of course in a few weeks it'll all change again with more kids in school. It seems unnecessary and covert and unsupportive I.e.trying to look for staff not doing a good enough job in these crazy unprecedented times...

Yes, we had OFSTED last term and that's pretty much what they wanted to know ( apart from the plans, but they did want to know how provision had changed from planned to in practice) so I'm not surprised SMT want to know too!

Yes, but unless the school are RI/I and therefore expecting Ofsted before the school is re-opened, I'm not sure why they would. Remote learning is only going to be in place for a few more weeks.
