Maternity leave

I just want to check something and the bloody NEU lines are constantly full.

If I take a full year off, the burgundy book says I don't need to tell them when I'm returning, it's the 53rd week.

So if it was jan 25th 2019 that mat leave started, I'd start work on the week beginning Monday 27th 2020?

Fairly sure they follow the burgundy book though.

Right didn't think to check the maternity guidance, thanks (if I have it Confused)!

As far as I was informed, they presume you will have the full year unless you tell them. Have you checked your school's maternity guidance? It's usually quite specific.

I wrote a letter to accompany my MATB form stating when I would be starting leave and when I intended to return. Then, when I had to go back earlier than anticipated, they needed 6 weeks notice (as stated in my school's maternity guidance)
