Microchip cat flaps

Can anyone recommend a cat flap that controls who comes in and out by reading their microchips?

We have a marauding local bully who used to sneak in if we left the back door open but tonight he must have used the cat flap. He attacked our kitten ☹️ so I need to do something about it asap. Any recommendations gratefully received.

He's brave, I'll give him that, we've got a flipping Labrador who chases him, but it doesn't seem to put him off.

Thanks to everyone for your recommendations, sureflap is now installed and working (for our older cat anyway, the kitten creeps in, it unlocks, she noses it open and then backs out - I'm sure she will figure it out soon enough!)

She went to the vet today to be checked as she hasn't been moving all that well since the incident with the intruder and she has an infected bite on her hip, much better already with antibiotics and painkillers. So hopefully all back to normal soon and they can at least be safe in the house. Phew. Thanks again.

I have a sureflap but not the app one.I can manually lock it but otherwise works on Eric’s chip. He sits by door for me to open the door, but uses flap if servant is not in kitchen. We also have a bully, but mine won’t back down, but at least he has the option to escape.

We have a sureflap which keeps the random white fluffy interloper out.

It did take my two a couple of weeks to get used to it though as there is a loud click. I had to prop the whole cat flap open for a week or so before closing it.

Cat flaps are often the same size. We have a long tunnel through a cavity wall and just put the sureflap front on. We left the rest of the cat flap as the old one.

We have a pet porte installed in double glazed door, it is ok but periodically the electrics go, in total we've had three over 13 years. We had a lot of toddler interference when the DC were small and their little friends would tamper with it. Now it is OK.

We have a PetSure catflap - we had to get a new doubleglaze pane in the french door with the catdoor set into it by the glazing company .

Our cats had never used a catflap before and were a bit fazed by the loud click , but soon twigged it meant "Freedom"

Only downside is when they're locked in they still go to the door which has it clicking repeatedly ( we put something heavy in front of it)

They love it and sail through with their Magic Necks Grin And no intruders !

I have a sure flap but the microchip reader only worked on 3 out of 4 of my cats. For those 3 it did work well though when I was experimenting.

We’ve got the older style Sureflap (have to lock and unlock it manually). It does work well but occasionally next doors cats have managed to tailgate one of ours in before the flap drops shut. Batteries last a year or two with two cats coming and going all day.

Thanks anytime, couldn't get to the shops today but I have just ordered one to be delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed it works ok and the kitten can feel safe again.

We have a sureflap too but it has no
app to control it. It does work on the microchip though with no probs. I
sometimes wonder what would happen if the battery died and then cat couldn’t get in but so far so good, we’ve had it for 18 months and it’s been fine.
It also does full open, fully locked, entrance only, and exit only, which is brilliant

Thanks @Subbaxeo that sounds ideal - I just need to take the old one apart to see how big the hole is as it's in a wall so not easy to adjust.

I have a sureflap connect controlled by an app and you set up up by reading the cat’s microchip. Works a treat-only unlocks when our kitty goes near it. She has a curfew on it too so we don’t have to get up at 5 am to let her out!
