When would you worry?

I’ve noticed this week one of my cats sitting as if he’s peeing in the garden for a while, on one occasion I was near him and couldn’t hear anything and noticed only a tiny bit had come out - this has again happened twice today (not sure if I’m looking for it now so noticing it more than usual!). He’s fine within himself, eating and sleeping as usual and out and about harassing the local birds / squirrels but when I’ve googled this it’s like I have to rush him to the vets straight away (!) … anyone had any experience of this? Thanks

Try not to panic. If a little wee is coming out it's unlikely he's blocked. Probably cystitis, although could be constipation. Either way he'll be uncomfortable and need treatment.

Meant to say it came on really quickly too. We were too late for our cat unfortunately.

My cat died this year due to a blocked bladder. I would get him to the emergency vet quickly. Your insurance should cover it.

Thank you. He’s out at the moment but should be back soon for dinner - I’ll get him to the vets asap 😭

Vet now, blockages in male cats can be really serious

Yup - definitely vet immediately I'm afraid. I noticed this, took my cat in and he ended up in veterinary hospital that day. (And it was bloody expensive...)

He needs the vet, they’ll have a nurse on duty today to speak to. If he’s blocked he’s in trouble.
