DDog is a 4.5 year old lab and has been on Royal Canin. He's gone off of it so am looking to swap.

Can't do raw so it will be dry.

What would you all recommend? Like the look of Lily's Kitchen but its pricey. Also looking at Wainwrights and James Wellbeloved.

My lab is on Millie’s Wolfheart Countryside mix. She has just kibble for breakfast then kibble and a bit of wet food at night - Forthglade, Lily’s Kitchen or Country Hunter.

Eden, we did feed Millies Wolfheart but she soon got bored of it!

Gentle do a mini version too. Guru looks like pony nuts and is about the same size so not huge - our little dog can manage it but prefers the Gentle minis.

Ah, that’s perfect! Thanks Icklepup I’ll see if Zooplus sell it.

Markus Mühle do a mini version

Had a look at Guru, I fancy using a British made food and its the same price bracket as the Markus Muhle. Is it fairly chunky? My terriers like the Markus Muhle but struggle with the size of it.

Useful website, I wouldn’t touch anything under 4 stars. www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/the-dog-food-directory

A pp mentioned Purina, it doesn’t score well, nor do any of the dried foods available in the supermarkets. If you can, find the American website rating food because they have to declare ingredients the U.K. doesn’t, including cancer causing preservatives.

Exactly the same story here with mine - I tried everything! Now he eats all his food and is settled on Guru.

My lab used to have Millie’s Wolfheart but he got fed up of it. We’ve since tried various kibbles and he seems to tire of all of them after a while so I have to be a bit varied. Bloody fussy dog. His breakfast is currently still sitting in his bowl in the kitchen.

I plan to tray Markus Muhle as my boy loves Gentle and is currently on Guru so theoretically he will like it! Cold pressed is the way forward I think.

I use this. My boy absolutely loves it and it even smells like roast lamb. www.clydachfarmgroup.co.uk

I like the Markus muhle dog food and it’s cheep! It does have good reviews on allaboutdogfood too (4.8stars or something). My only complaint is the size of the pieces, my medium sized terriers struggle with it a bit.

We feed our two (a greyhound/whippet and jrt) on Markus Muhle dried food with a bit of something wholesome stirred in. The flatulence problems of the grippet have been reduced by 100% and the terrier is happy to eat the mini version of the Markus Muhle. I highly recommend this food.

Orijen Senior. It's pricy but my lurcher loves it.

Wainwrights grain free...

It’s got fairly decent ingredients, it’s not expensive and is often on offer, I can buy it on my way home and my dog likes it.

My cocker spaniel loves Edgard & Cooper. As with PP, I soak it in hot water, add a bit of wet food, and he hoovers it up.

We tried quite a few good kibbles before settling on this one: everything else gave him terrible wind!

I'm not commenting, as I work for Lily's Kitchen, but glad to see there are fans on here, keeping me in a job

I’m using Edgar & Cooper at the moment. Pup loves it, but he loves everything. I soak it in hot water and then add wet food.

I have just gone over to Essentials. It looks expensive but it goes a long way and the dog loves it.

Mine has wainwrights dry. She wouldn't eat James wellbeloved (and she's a former street dog!). They do all have different preferences, so you may need to try and see. Mine also prefers wet food and/or some leftovers, so the dry forms about a third of what she eats
