My darling dog always makes me smile when I give him his tea he will always come and find me in the house or garden to give me a kiss . I can only think he's thanking me for his meal .
It makes me smile every time .
What makes you smile 😃 with your dogs ?

Sleeps flat on her back, legs in the air, with her head hanging off the edge of the settee! Looks very uncomfortable but apparently it’s a Schnauzer thing Grin

Wolfiefan · 21/09/2018 17:51

Butts her head against me when she wants a fuss.
Greets me every morning.
Lies down to greet little dogs.
Hides behind me when things are scary.
Laughs.
Woofles and twitches in her sleep.
I love my dog and may actually be a bit obsessed. Blush

My lovely ddog noses at the cupboard where the petfood lives until I give him a treat. He then continues to do it until I give both the cats a treat. This is the only time he is nice to them especially the kitten who he generally hates.

Fuzzyend · 21/09/2018 17:54

Arghhhh I want a dog sooooo muchhh!!!!

Just had to get that out.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 21/09/2018 17:59

Not just you, my heart literally breaks when I look at her I love her so much! She does so many little things that make me smile but what really makes me laugh is when she tells me when it’s time we all go upstairs to bed! She stands in the living room looking all assertive and DH and me alternately get the death stare until we obey her command, this is fine when it’s actually bedtime not so much at 8pm...... she does the same when I visit friends houses after about an hour she has had enough and just wants us to go home! The sweetest thing she does which makes my heart completely melt is when I’m tickling her belly, if I stop she does this really cute thing with her paw and sort of strokes her face as if saying don’t stop, so cute. Getting her was the best decision we ever made, I heart my dog!!

poppy196 · 21/09/2018 17:59

Fuzzyend I was you for years then I got ddog just over a month ago! He is supposed to be a mentally scarred dog rescued from a kill shelter in Romania but no one seems to have told him that!

missyB1 · 21/09/2018 18:02

Most of the time my dog is an absolute bastard and makes me tear my hair out. She's aggressive, noisy, medicated, not especially loving, and we have to manage our whole lives around her and her special needs.

But she makes me laugh when she buries her chew and then digs it up again. And when she has a little game by herself with her toy. And when she sneaks under the covers at 4am and pushes herself under my arms for warmth. And when she gives me the 6 o clock dinner stare. And when she honks like a goose.

I'm torn between wanting all of our suffering to be over, and loving her so desperately that I will be distraught when the little fucker has gone.

poppy196 · 21/09/2018 18:04

Betty that's so funny that darling dog is telling you to go to bed .
My mum had the same with her cat that he would appear to tell visitors to piss off as it was bedtime, Mum was very embarrassed as cats face said he wasn't happy with them still being there .

It's so tempting, but it wouldn't be fair at the moment.

In the meantime, I'll just live vicariously through you folks.....

poppy196 · 21/09/2018 18:08

Shes beautiful missy , loving those eyebrows 😁

Understand completely Radio , we get what we are given and accept it , our darling dog is a whirlwind of energy even with 3 walks a day and a pain in the arse with visitors but we accept his pain in the bum ways and enjoy the little things he does that make us smile .

German shepherd cross gets on my knee for cuddles when she's scared of things. She's a rescue and is scared of things lots of the time! She has no idea how big she is!

Penninepain · 21/09/2018 18:14

I can be a bit grrrr with mine, rolling in fox poo, going suddenly deaf etc., then I see my oldest boy, a big lumbering labrador, gently and very carefully grooming my 15 year old black and white cat, who snuggles up for a sleep in his belly.

My heart just melts.

BiteyShark · 21/09/2018 18:14

When mine comes running in, jumps on the sofa and puts him chin, paw or if I am lucky his whole body on me.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 21/09/2018 18:15

And there you go

Spreadingcudweed · 21/09/2018 18:22

When I've finished a long phone conversation, or if everyone is particularly happy or excited, ddog will sometimes do his very best to "join in" by imitating a human voice which sort of emerges as
"auughhhhriiiiiioooouuuuuu". Very funny and it sounds completely different to any other noise he makes!

villainousbroodmare · 21/09/2018 18:29

When he knows he's muddy after a walk, goes straight to the bathroom and jumps into the bath and waits. Shivering slightly as he dislikes being washed, but he knows he has to do it. ♡

My 9 month old puppy does Roly polys when playing with large cuddly toys or when he finally catches his tail, he holds on to it and does a Roly poly!

It's the little things like this that are getting me through his adolescence 😀

Howtodeal · 21/09/2018 18:36

So many things! She loves DH to sort of cuddle her upright like a baby and she sort of reverses into him then flings herself into position, it's hilarious.

The care she takes when choosing a toy from her toy basket.

Her irritation with us when we sit in the kitchen in the evening rather than getting on the big sofa in the lounge where she can snug in the middle, she will humph and grumph and stare at us until we move.

If I'm ever upset she comes over and licks my face.

Waiting ever so patiently for her toast in the mornings.

Her excitement when I get back from Tesco and the immediate dive into the bags to see if I bought her anything.

Basically every single thing she does! Dogs are the best.

GreyHare · 21/09/2018 18:38

My boy just has to look at me and I melt, I'm mean who could resist this face, he makes me laugh daily as he is an absolute doofus that is devoid of braincells and you can almost hear the cogs whirring when he is trying to actually work something out.
