Hi. DS13. Year 9. was given a small Lego toy to make by a neighbour who got a freebie. He was really in to it. Used to like Lego when younger but past few years being all electronics. Can anyone recommend any good lego sets or building things for that age. A lot of things I have looked at seem for younger kids. Some are very expensive too. Was thinking could look Ebay etc if got some ideas. Try and get him a new hobby. Thanks .

Would Lego Technics be the sort of thing he would like? It's pretty expensive though, but some of the stuff I've seen (such as the cars) are pretty amazing things. I could spend many a happy hour working on things like that.

HI. Thanks for that. I just looked and you can get some starter ones for 5.00. That's great. Thanks for the idea.

My 14 year old has never stopped liking lego. He loves the cars with gearing etc and sets that are interesting to build and that look good. He's growing a collection of the architecture sky line ones and the star wars helmets. The moon landing one is cool too.

You can also buy motors etc separately but you'd need a good amount of bricks and some technic bits for gearing to go with them.

My younger son is still really into Lego and is collecting all the Harry Potter stuff - he has lighting that you can get which lights up the windows, which looks really cool.

14yo nephew really enjoyed the friends central perk set, does he have any interests you could buy as Lego?

Mine only build the sets. They're not the cheapest so we only buy them at Christmas/birthdays.
They tend to get Star Wars sets, so this Christmas they had Grogu from the Mandalorian.
