Well as the title says really. Had my nails done on Wednesday and tonight my thumb has chipped. Do I go back? It's a right pain as usually they last 4 weeks 😭

Most salons I’ve used have a policy that they’ll fix any issues within 1 week of nails being done.

If you don’t oil the nail twice a day the nail flexes every time it’s wet & pulls the coating away from the nail.

Its an acrylic paint at the end of the day not Kevlar.

Was it standard gel or BIAB? With standard gel I would always chip within 2-5 days despite claims it can last weeks and weeks. With BIAB I don't tend to chip at all, if I do it is minimal and after 2+ weeks. The nail tech I go to has a policy where she fixes any damage for free within the first week - perhaps yours has similar?

Did you keep your hand completely flat under the light?

Yes go back. They should last 2 weeks minimum

I'm not sure that's the thing! This is the 3rd set I've had from this person and it's normally great and I have only had them chip slightly when I have broken a nail that's got long. I have no idea what happened. I'll go back and see what she says.

Assuming you didn't do anything not nail friendly, I'd go back. A decent place will happily redo the nail. I've had it happen before and just popped back in for a quick 10 mins to have it redone / patched up. It'll bug you if you leave it! Plus they should last 10 days (minimum imo).

So not durable. How did you chip it? I'm usually fed up of them after a few days.
