Blouses that are not t-shirt

I'm really struggling to find pretty but not floral over the top frilly or high necked blouses.

T-shirt or t-shirt material jersey and woolen/knit stuff is not what I am looking for. I just want some blouses with long or short sleeves (not 3/4 I hate the sensation) that are suitable for a office environment where the average age is 79. (Not kidding i work in retirement) but doesn't make me feel 79 😄

I've had limited success in Jigsaw and Oliver bonas. Mint velvet is no good and to.my surprise the white house hasn't got much in this style this year.

If like something that's classic in cut but not 100-150 a top i simply can't keep that up

I have a wardrobe bursting with Boden ravello blouses exactly for this purpose. Casual but smart at the same time.

just checked their website and can’t seem to find any though…have they stopped making them ? Please say no !

Have a look online at Paul Costelloe Studio Line for Dunnes Stores. Just google. I can't do links Blush
There are some lovely blouses and they are not wildly expensive. The quality is good because Paul Costelloe wouldn't put his name on tat.

I have an expensive love affair with a shirt brand called with nothing underneath. Yes they’re about £90 a shirt, so towards the very upper end, but wash and wear really well and you feel a million dollars wearing them. I have a collarless girlfriend, a striped boyfriend and a brushed cotton in olive…

Inwear do fantastic easy to wear blouses. John Lewis carries this brand. I have a load of these in different colours and classy enough to wear out for evenings after work

Cos and Kew on eBay for nice shirts. Or toast and noa noa, also on eBay!

Hush? I had a couple of their cotton shirts for the summer. Admittedly more oversized style than classic, but it's worth a look in case they have things more like what you're after. They have good sales.
Also Uniqlo; I've got some nice simple shirts/blouses in cotton. Try their collaborations with people like Ines de la Fressange.

@Wbeezer Sorry forgot I really want to avoid making it myself. I am capable but I find when I do I keep nit picking as its not 100% somewhere (100% my mother's voice perhaps I should take that to my therapist 😃)

I find when j make my own I want to add touches and it just ends up taking me forever and I'm never fully happy. I oddly never feel this way about dresses or skirts trousers I make. But something about tops just makes me ick.

Lots of suggestions.m thank you.

I deliberately put blouse rather than. Shirts as I think that is my issue I don't want a plain cotton shirt . I want something more delicate with a level of style. I have bought one from Mango and will be buying from hawkes and Curtis too. (Actually struggling to decide there so yay)

Has anyone used lilysilk? They have some beautiful looking blouses but at £100-150 I am reluctant to take the plunge.

@LobeliaBaggins a I actually really like Esprite. Especially their bras so I will keep looking there.

@LadyEloise1. I love pure collection really miss being able to go to their shops due to the simplicity of their style I like to trt it on to see how well it fits me I go up and down in their sizes.

Esprit has great blouses, though I don't think it's a brand that is top of mind. Many geometric or plain.www.esprit.co.uk/womenswear/clothes/blouses-tunics

I lived in shirts from Hawes and Curtis. www.hawesandcurtis.co.uk/womenswear when I needed office wear.

They are way cheaper than blouses from shops like Hobbs - current offer on 2 for £60.
They have all sorts of patterns in fitted and loose fit styles, but I loved the fitted shirts in wild floral patterns. Easy to wear, smart and I got loads of compliments on them

This looks really interesting thank you

Sympathise with tastes running ahead of budget! Though I can always find shirts / blouses. (What’s the problem with your colleagues?)

Anyway - three from & Other Stories:

Unsure what you mean about problem with my colleagues?

Sezane and & Other Stories. Good for silk shirts in nice prints or colours, also tops that are simple and flattering but not boring. I buy in the sales or preloved.
