Any cheap Birkenstocks or decent fake/copies anywhere?

Just that really. I need/want a new pair and I think the ones currently on my feet came from a top tip on here a couple of years ago. So can anyone point me to anything less than £70? Or can you recommend some cheaper copies that are just as comfortable? I prefer the two strap although happy to try gizeh or three strap, just not wanting the one strap type. Any hot tips to be had?

@Makinglists
Just ordered some Plakton from sandalshop.co.uk/
I have a couple of pairs which I got in TK Maxx a couple of years ago and they are very comfortable.

A pair of sandals from M&S lasted me about 3 months before they tore.

That happened to my M and S dupes as well.

Someone else has a thread about cheaper Birkenstock style sandals - she’s worn through several pairs from ASOS in months. I’ve got 3 pairs of Birkenstock Arizona’s with the oldest pair about 15 years old. The other 2 are about 7 / 8 years old. A pair of sandals from M&S lasted me about 3 months before they tore. It just seems such a waste of money and resources to keep buying cheap products.

I tried Geox and Birkenstock and found the Geox much more comfortable.

I forgot I have another pair of Betula I bought from ebay...new with tags....they must have been discontinued stock as they are labelled as ' licensed by Birkenstock.'..these are even fancier than my gold ones as they have 'diamond' buckles 💍💎

I find Birkenstocks really wide and very roomy on the strap, office has good versions which are a bit more narrow and are njce

(I know you’ve updated this thread since!)

Birkenstock used to do a line called Betula..but i guess they sold it...same footbed but the straps aren't real leather, they are vinyl lined in a heavy felt. I bought a pair and they've held up real well.
My DH even liked them and he doesn't usually comment on my shoes
Of course since these are gold, I can wear them for dressier occasions 😂

I need Birkenstocks for the arch support and have just found the cheaper imitations nowhere near as good. I tend to buy mine out of season. I can usually pick up a pair with a hefty discount in Oct/Nov time (especially if I'm not picky about colour.)

Failing that, if you need some NOW. Vinted is your friend. Just click 'new with tags' to avoid getting some old knackered ones moulded to someone else's feet...

I'm back with an answer to my own post last month. I took your advice and bought both moshulu and aldi which together cost half the price of new Birki's, and to be honest I should've paid for new Birki's. Aldi probably feel more like Birkenstocks, although there is not as much arch support. Moshulu are wider, softer and flatter, and have a cushiony sole which makes them comfortable, but they just move around too much on my feet and have no arch support.

Out of the two, Aldi win hands down on comfort and price (I think they were £7, Moshulu £39) - unfortunately our store didn't have in stock any so I bought Moshulu, then found some in another store.

Buy the Birkenstocks, they really are worth the extra.

I got a pair of footbed sandals in the sale from New Look. They are comfier than my real birkies and cost the princely sum of £4!

M and S have some lookalaikes, but the ones I bought last year broke within a few months. Avoid.
