Beauty box suggestions, please!
StuckForAPressie · 30/10/2021 14:55
I have a friend who is reeeeeally hard to buy for and it's her birthday soon. I was thinking a beauty box subscription might be a good idea, as it's a little luxurious treat every month. There are lots, though! Which is the best one - Glossybox? Birchbox? Recommendations would be really appreciated!

Bump - I could really do with some recommendations!

What's the budget?
I like cohorted. I don't subscribe though, I pick and buy them individually but I'm always impressed with the contents.

Oh I've never heard of cohorted, @LizzieMacQueen - thank you, I'll have a look.
Budget would be around £120, but I don't mind if that's a six month subscription of a higher-end type, or a year of less high-end.

What about a beauty pie membership? They're doing an annual subscription for £60 (I think) you could get her that and some makeup as a start?

I did Birchbox for 6 months and at the same time my friend did Glossybox. We definitely preferred Glossybox - more full sized products and fewer repeats. Birchbox is mainly pretty small sample sizes and by the 6th month I felt like I'd had everything as I was getting a lot of the same /similar products. This was last year though so maybe they've changed! I don't have experience of any others but out of those two I'd go for Glossybox if I did it again.

I had a few months each of Birchbox and Lookfantastic box last year and way preferred Lookfantastic box - birch box had smaller sizes, more repeats and crap actual boxes. Also better brands with LF for my age (late 40's) but BB was aimed at younger age - lots of shiny make up and cheaper brands I felt.

Thank you, it's great to get these opinions and experiences - I'll have a look at Beauty Pie, but it seems that Glossybox is better than Birchbox so it might be the way to go . . .
