Is this wrong?

DD wants a Vivienne Westwood necklace. She (and I) think that they're crap quality for the price. She has found some much cheaper fakes on Amazon. Is it wrong to let her purchase a fake? I've just heard so many horror stories about Vivienne Westwood jewellery breaking and made our of rubbish materials but she likes the look of it.

It depends on what you mean by wrong. Is it illegal? Yes. Will you burn in hell? I doubt it.

It's only a fake if they're trying to pass it off as the real thing. Otherwise it's a copy or inspired by. I've had some cheap jewellery from Amazon that's been good quality.

DD was given a vw bracelet as a gift and went green very quickly. I said you can get a sterling silver bracelet of a similar size etc and will only cost half of the cost!

A few years ago my son bought his girlfriend the VW orb on a chain from the shop for Christmas. She did not wear it for a while. It was kept in the little bag, inside the box. One time she went to have a look at it and the chain had gone green. This was something that cost a lot of money.

Buy a fake

Just buy the look alike

Oh yes, I am convinced the quality will be horrific but I've heard that actual VW is also horrific so I'm just not sure whether she should be paying the extra for the same quality.

It’s only wrong if she’s going to try and pass it off as a Vivienne Westwood. Otherwise, all
She’s really doing is buying a necklace she likes the look of.

That said, I don’t trust that the quality of the fake will be any better than what you’ve heard about the original.

go for it- it's such a specific look that she may grow out of- it's a lot of money if she ends up going off it

Fakes are usually made from material which just got green after one use so it’s just a waste of money. Instead wait for the sales or look in Brandalley for discounts

Yes it's wrong. Don't buy a fake. Just find another necklace.
