Keeping a daily diary - recommendations please

I want to get better at keeping a brief daily diary for my son - to record outcomes of any school meetings, provision they’ve promised, issues at home, progress in key areas, moods and triggers etc.

In the past I’ve kept an excel spreadsheet but it got very unwieldy quickly and having to log on to my laptop every time is a bit of a blocker.

I was thinking there must be an app suitable but nothing jumps out at me - does anyone use one they can recommend please? Thank you.

I use the notes app on my iPhone; most phones will have something similar
I have folders set up and just quickly jot down what’s important and can copy and paste info as needed

Thank you. That got me thinking and I’ve got Evernote and looks like I can use that as is syncs to my laptop.
