Just that really.

I want to lose a couple of stone after baby arrives so thought I'd make a start now on understanding how SW works and having a healthier diet but I'm not sure whither to go to a group or not?

they don't recommend losing weight so is there any point in going to a group or do you think I should just join online?

thanks all

I'm currently 29 weeks pregnant and I joined SW two weeks ago. I haven't lost any weight but I have stayed the same which is my aim so that when baby arrives I shouldn't be too much heavier than I was before. My midwife actually recommended sw to me, I have a referral for an I don't even have to pay. So yes, definitely go for it!

Wow! Yay for breastfeeding! You burn calories and you get more healthy extras!

Thank you! Amazing! And yes I will be breastfeeding so I don't know how I'll fit in all the healthy extras when that comes!

Yes well you've lost weight in a healthy way so it was weight your probably didn't need which is amazing! Well done!

You get 2 of each while pregnant (woohoo!) and then loads more if/when breastfeeding. I stuck to plan almost 100% last week (having found out I was pregnant) so I ate loads and loads, filled up on healthy speed food, and had my extra Health Extras, and still lost 5LBs! My consultant says it's normal to keep losing but obviously it'll slow right down as the pregnancy progresses. Still not aiming to lose at all but that's 5LBs less that my body has to worry about while it's trying to focus on growing Baby, with the added benefit that I've been eating super healthily

Thanks all!

Exactly Jade I can concentrate on losing weight once baby is here but for now I want to learn the ropes and nourish my body.

Do you know how many healthy extras I should have?

I've been doing SW since October and will continue going through pregnancy (I'm on W6 now) because it's so much more than weight loss, it's healthy eating and I think that can only be a good thing! Plus it's recommended by the Royal College of Midwiffery so can't be bad (and you get extra cheese while pregnant, can't say no to that!)

I started SW in Jan 2015, now have a 5 week old DD. I managed to limit my weight gain over the pregnancy by following the plan and put on about 9lb in total at my heaviest (working from when I got pg). I had lost 10.5lb at the first weigh in after birth, so a net loss of 1.5lb!

I'm now 1st 12lb lighter than I was 14 months ago and I'm hoping for 2st at next weigh in!

There are pregnant people at my group. I think there is a way to adapt the plan for pregnant people. Ask a consultant what they think.

When I did SW there were maybe 3 people who were pregnant then. They seemed to find it helpful. They were overweight so were aiming to limit the weight gain from what I remember and had been suggested it by HCP.
