Being a SW Consultant?

LS24 · 14/01/2016 11:08

I have been following SW for a while now and I have lost weight with it. I am thinking about becoming a SW consultant and I know that they hold opportunity events in the local area from time to time. But I was just wondering if anyone knew of the initial start up costs and commission rates so that I can work out the figures before getting too involved in the process and then maybe them bombarding me with lots of info and giving it the hard sell? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.. thank you.

Lighteningirl. .... I have just been to an opportunity event & loved it. But now thinking can I do it, will I be any good etc. Could I ask you ...since you have started being a consultant what impact has it had on your family or partner. Thanks in advance ☺ x

I started reading that consultant diary. I gave up after a while as she seemed to be an utter whiny brat!:o

The form that came around at our group said you needed to stump up £1500. So not pocket money

I'm a consultant you get out what you put in I have given up my other job and cleared my mortgage and been privileged enough to help change hundreds of people's lives, health, fertility and happiness, so it's a huge thumbs up from me but it is quite expensive go along to the opportunity event they explain all the options.

Hi LS24, I started a thread like this in October. It's on page 3 if you wanted to read my experience of the opportunity event Smile

Thank you both...you have been helpful. I was just wondering about the initial outlay in case its a lot of money and maybe if the commission rate is not great, then it can take a while to make it back...but that is the same for any business I suppose. There are a lot of people doing it, so maybe then the commission etc is not that bad. Thank you both.

"It's not just anyone can sign up. You have to have an interview over the phone I think."

Oh, yeah, sorry, it's a phone interview then an actual interview.

No, at they end they get you to fill in a form saying that either you're wanting to go ahead now, you're interested but not right now or that you're not wanting to do it.

Even if you do want to go ahead, they still have to interview you and check your references and credit rating before it's a done deal anyway.

They tell you all that at the opportunity event though.

No idea on the costs but can I advise you take a look at this thread on minimins

www.minimins.com/threads/a-diary-of-a-slimming-world-consultant.301318/

It's very long (168 pages I think) but it's a great insight into the process of becoming a consultant and the reality of it all. Some of the the things I got from it was that it's incredibly hard if you are working alongside it and most people gain quite a lot when they first start.

I have a friend who went to the opportunity event and she said they didn't put the hard sell on at all. Good luck
