  1. How many years of use do you think you'll get out of it?


  1. What's it made out of, plastic, steel, aluminium?


  1. How much does it weigh (approx).?


  1. Would you buy a real tree if you couldn't have artificial, or would you never buy a 'real' tree due to the hassles?

  1. had mine for about 8 years - hopefully will never replace as once DS's leave home will return to decorating the house plants which is what I did before children

    2)plastic I think

  2. not much - I can carry it on my own (5ft tall)

  3. no I would never buy a real tree

  1. Always used to buy real tree then got fed up of the cost each year just when I was short of money. Fake no more or less hassle than a real one, will go back to real one but wil get my wear out of this one first.

lots, plastic, not a lot, no space for any tree at the moment, maybe a real tree when kids are older.

Always had real trees as a kid but since have ds have gone for artificial. Bought a new one this year from B&Q, 6ft slim one with solid steel legs.

Main reason for artificial = a real tree would be in a bucket of water and the only place to put it in our house is next to the TV/video etc. so just the electrocution factor really!

  1. 9 yrs ols and still fine
  2. not sure - some combination of metal plastic and wood (resembles real tree)
  3. quite heavy - takes 2 of us to get in in the loft
  4. Have stopped buying real trees as didn't like killing them - seemed wasteful

I LOVE real trees (the smell!) but they take up room which we don't have so we have an artificial one. Also it's easier to put up higher ie harder for ds to reach! But, we are moving in the new year and I'm determined to have a real one next Christmas.

Our tree is five foot tall and made mainly of metal but is not that heavy. I can erect it by myself and also return it to the top of a very tall cupboard for storage without help. We have already had it over ten years and it still looks like new as it is always stored carefully in it's original box.

  1. How much does it weigh (approx).? no idea, but it's 6" prob about 5-10LB?


  1. Would you buy a real tree if you couldn't have artificial, or would you never buy a 'real' tree due to the hassles? we normally buy both, I have the real in the front room and DH's fake one in the dinning room. ( i don't like fake ones!)

i bought one last year cos mum always had one, so i just followed. now wish i hadnt, would love a real one

artificial is a pain cos they are heavy, take up space when not in use. mine is metal, dont know what but its heavy. its a lovely tree, and cost a bomb. because it was dear im not chucking it but would love to cos would rather have real!! i always thought real ones shed all over the floor but on this morning yesterday they had lovely ones that apparently dont shed
