I've got this one and its fab. We got it for xmas last year and useed it to make all our bread since. Hardly ever use the nut and raison dispenser though, so the model beneath this one is cheaper but does an equally good job.

I've got a hardly used Panasonic you can buy. How much are they new?

Another Panasonic here as well. I've had mine for nearly 2 years and it been amazing. I am not a great baker by any means so I wanted one that was really easy to use. My mum got one a bit before me and had spent ages doing research and panasonic came up tops. Its not as cheap as others but in my opinion well worth it. It is for christmas or could you wait till the new year and sales etc etc. might see the panasonic in a special offer???

I've got a breville compact one and its fab. Smaller than the panasonic, makes 2 loaf sizes and has settings for dough, jam and cakes. Used it nearly every day for 3 years and still makes yummy bread.
I've lost the recipe book that came with it though, so if anyone's got a spare one ...

I got my panasonic from amazon for £67 as they had a deal on at the time. look on pricerunner for the best current deals

Spoke to husband tonight about this and what breadmaker he wanted. His reply was - there is only one worth buying, the Panasonic S something or other!

Definitely don't go for a 'Bifinett' - dh bought cheaply at Lidl's unless you like eating bricks. Looking out for someone to give it away to and dh now wants something better for Christmas.

Definately get the panasonic - I have one and have been using it for 6+ years. Many of my friends have seen ours and gone for cheaper brands thinking they are ok - but they are sooooooooo inferior! The panasonic was the best according to the Which? Guide and also according to Delia!
