Lego Clikits - anyone got these?

DS2 made me a bracelet out of (ordinary) Lego today, which really impressed me. He plays a lot with girls, and wouldn't be bothered by a 'girly toy'. Just wondered whether this stuff is any good - normal Lego quality, or just a gimmick?

I hate it! 7yo DD got some for Xmas and it has remained pretty much unused after the first opening.

Asda sell them - £6.99 sets but ToysRUs do the smaller sets for £2.99 perhaps you could try one to see how she gets on? Our DD loves them, and yes they are fiddly!

You're not alone Batters- my dd, also 6, has real problems with it. I agree that it's well-made, and you can make really nice things, but I have to help dd a lot to actually do the clicking, and she's lost interest as a result

Thanks all for the reviews ... I went to town to buy some today. Unfortunately couldn't find any! I'm sure I've seen it somewhere ... Think I'll try Tescos and Asda tomorrow.

We've bought it as presents for ds' school friends and if he expressed an interest we'd buy it for him too. Agree with Frenchgirl that it is tasteful and pretty. Don't fancy wearing a Bionicle round my neck - now those are a waste of *** money AND ruin your fingernails. Ggggrrrr.

dd has got some and they are lovely, we made jewellery that is actually pretty on a child!!! Good quality, and you can 'redo' the jewellery and change the design later on as well.

dd has various sets of these and loves them - usual lego quality
