Small Cycle Helmets - less than 48cm?

Hi - can anyone help please - I bought a 48cm cycle helmet for my son, as it was the smallest I could find, and it is too big (he is a big boy of 15 months, so I can't be the first person to want one surely?). I have the bike seat ready to go, but until I find something smaller we can't go anywhere. Thanks.

Thanks for having a look - I googled, but you got better results! The baby one from JJB looks promising, I will go to the shop and have a look. There were no extra pads in our helmet - I think I will take it back - it isn't much use really! Thanks.

Oh, sorry, missed that! The helmets our kids have had have always come with 3 sets of pads altogether, IIRC - medium sized already fitted, usually, and extra thinner and thicker ones to adjust with as necessary. Does yours have any pads at all? (They attach with little circles of velcro as a rule.)

I've been googling - this one says it fits "49cm and under"; this one is described as a baby helmet but doesn't give a size.

(The second site - abcaz.com - seems to have stopped working at the moment though! Anyway it's a small black helmet for £7.99 from JJB.)

No, can you buy extra stick in pads to add? That would do it, although the straps are still too long - it is maddening as everyone is always telling me how big he is for his age! The slidy thing for the straps ends up under the helmet when it is tight enough, which cannot be comfortable for him.

Does it come with extra thick pads for the sides and back, Dusie? Is it still too big with those in?
