Moving to Scotland from England - Dress code rules at school??

Hey everyone Very soon our family will all be moving to Scotland. We are English and my Daughter (14) will therefore be changing schools. I feel adjustment will not be that difficult after all its hardly a move across the world. However when it comes to the kids new school it seems to be very different to how it was in England. I seem to have got to grips with the different exams and year group structures, but when it comes to uniform or, dress code, I am abit stuck. As I understand it the new school to which they are starting has a very simple and open dress code rather than a uniform it appears. I'm of the impression from the school/other parents/pupils that as long as the students wear the tie with a white shirt or top and black everything else then this is suitable? Of course D is happy about this change. So then should I feel bad that I have agreed that they can wear clothes they already own as long as they follow the rules? My D already owns a white polo shirt and many pairs of black jeans and black dresses. she of course has trainers too which are black . So therefore all I am going to have to purchase is the school tie to go with all this and then im sorted. Financially this is definitely very appealing. However at Ds current school this is very different. They are expected to wear a blazer at all times and certain specified shoes and trousers. They were never allowed the top button undone or shirts untucked. At the new school there is no issue with having your shirt untucked or top buttons undone. As long as your wear the tie. So my question really is. Shall I enforce the rules from their previous school carried over, or shall I just allow them to wear the clothes they have above that fit in the dress code. I have no issue with her shirt not being tucked in and the buttons being undone at the neck, but is it wrong to allow them to drastically change their uniform just because they can? Sorry for the long post, but I would be grateful to hear from other parents who have kids in S1 - S6 who have had to deal with the dress code policy. Thanks all :)
