Mold on pram

My sister has given me a pram which she kindly bought from her sister in law for me. It seems like an excellent pram/travel system but it has been stored in the loft and has mold on some bits. The moldy bits have been through the washing machine but are still visible (just a little bit). Just wondering if it is safe to put the baby in the pram/car seat? Would the mold be bad for baby or will it all be gone and just a stain left now? Was going to try lemon and salt and then sun drying (in the spring) as well but just wanted to see if it would be safe. Sorry for a very mundane worry compared to everyone elses problems. Also if I shouldnt use the pram what is a good travel system to use. Have big boot so size doesn`t matter.

just found on the internet that milton sterilising fluid is supposed to be a miracle mould remover so I am trying that now. Just thought I would mention it incase anyone else has the same problem

Ah yes vinegar - will be better than bleach as it is acidic and will get ride of the mold and not bleach the material - use a solution of vinegar and water with a nail brush and then wash..

I think mild bleach will kill the mold spores, which are dangerous. But of course they might also bleach the fabric if left too long. I woudl go at it wiht a nail brush like ivykate said, with a bleachy solution, then wash at the highest temperature you can. Just got a carseat out of the loft and it stunk of mold (can't see any though), even though it was really well wrapped up adn waterproofed. I washed it about 8 times, then yesterday decided to wash at 90 degrees as alast attempt (still smelt of mold) - it has come up fine - not shrunk or degraded, and doesn't smell any more. Oh, I added vinegar to a pre-wash as I think that prevents mold growing more.

actually - have you got a nail brush? Use a nail brush on the effected area of mold and then use a stain remove and wahs again - nothing to lose

Part of my job at times is to remove mold - I am given a face mask to do this - I wear the mask as I might as well protect myseof from any danger in the long term?

I would give the pram another go with a stain remover on the parts that have mold on them - then wash at a higher wash temperture if you can.

DS3 rode around in a mildew stained pram.
He's 2yo now.
Hard to see that any harm done.
