What is the M&P Luna Mix Like?

becks130 · 12/10/2009 19:38

I went in to M&P at the weekend and MY DH fell in love with the Luna Mix (Even though we agreed to use our sons old pushchair!) and I am struggling to find reviews, I have found reviews for the Luna which have all been bad but the VERY Few I have found on the Luna Mix have been good. I am very confussed, please help.

Thanks

Well gues what decided this morning to buy the bjcm and sold out on the boots ws. I am so I really don't want to spend another £179 to get a new one it was such a bargain. I know if i buy a luna which i would like i think. I would only hanker after a bjcm. Ohhh thanks so much for all the questions answered i will clear off now and sulk.

Star the folds are exactly the same, haven't noticed any different at all tbh!

It's lovely for a toddler IMO Basl, lovely wide seat so plenty of room. The hood is no quicker at getting dirty then any other pram tbh, I just lay it down with the hood on the top & remove the hood when I pack it away as it's easy to do.

Well i for some reason feel i always find a reason to want the bjcm. I love the sound of the luna but i don't know why i just think i would like the other better. How is the luna when the toddlers get bigger do you think? Still lots of room to grow and would it make it too heavy to push.

Anyone had trouble with the hood getting grubby very quick?

no pretty much the same worth a rent imo.

doesn't the regular luna fold more awkwardly? Someone told me that, not sure if it's right.

Basl, you can rent a Luna from here they only have the standard Luna but it would be much the same as the Mix it's only the extra wheel that is different

Satr the Peacock is gorgeous isn't it! I have a lovely Buggysnugle on it that matches perfectly & a Snunkie liner for it (well I have one that I'm selling & new fabric on the way for a new one )

The Peacock is so lush IRL, much more vibrant then it looks! The Luna certainly does give a very smooth ride, have found that with both the standard Luna & the Mix, I do prefer the mix as it's easier to get up kerbs IMO. Considering it's hard wheels it's a pleasure to push & steer!

the luna does push lovely, theres not really much if any suspension on it but its v.smooth push, its just a much prettier pram i think, and you can change hoods cheaply to give you a new look as you can see from my pics above i had two hoods, and would have ended up getting the peacock as well i expect!

I agree the hood is pretty pap on the Luna but tbh any hood when compared to the BJCM is pap!

I think you just have to go with what feels right for you, for me after pushing the BJCE the BJCM just felt so sluggish & heavy to push so it had to go, I don't seem to get that with the Luna but that is just me & as you know I use my BJCE every day so for my occasional 2nd pushchair the Luna is perfect.

oh, I looked at that one! I'm a closet pushchair-aholic

I liked the lunamix better for some reason - can't remember why at hte moment as it was several months ago

I love the zip on apron and the adjustable foot rest and that it lies completely flat or upright. I also love that little bar across the front. And the basket is perfect for what we need it for. The hood isn't excellent, though - and that peekaboo clear-netted part just lets sun in when baby is sleeping, although it does let you see down in there, too... not sure about that bit of it tbh.

Norma you are spot on with everything you have said. The thing is i may be using for my next hols abroad in april and bjcm hood is just perfect.

I would miss the footrest but my ds is 13mths now and he may cope without that.

The recline is not that a big deal for me as i only reclined for in the car not buses etc.

The luna did sound good when you where described it and i like the big seat and the oone hand backrest recline. The harness did seem a problem but my little boy always ends up sitting forward out of his harness anyway so may be better.

I do like a pushchair that is nice to push so that is why so much interest in the luna as i bought the elite after you recommended.

what's bjcm????

Report
NormaSknockers · 13/10/2009 13:56

I have to admit since having the BJCE I have gone off the BJCM a bit, it's still a lovely pushchair but when you have the Elite the BJCM just pales in comparison. I do prefer the Luna over the BJCM as a 2nd pushchair, the fold isn't as good on the Luna obviously & the hood is rubbish in comparison but as it's not a main pram I think it's perfect. It's a bit heavier then the BJCM but pushing wise you don't notice it, well I don't anyway.

The thing is there is fors & againt for both...

BJCM - light-weight, compact, excellent hood, good spacious seat, good sized basket, handy storage bag on the back, good suspension on the wheels, turns easily, easy to fold, easy to open.

Luna Mix - compact fold, nice fabrics & colours, nice big seat, adjustable handle, fairly good size basket, nice to push, fold is straight forward when you get the hang of it, adjustable leg rest, bumper bar, zip on apron.

You have to find what suits you what is perfect for one person doesn't work at all for another. I have to say I am yet to find someone who has owned a Mix & not liked it but the same can be said of the BJCM!

oh Normas i don't know what it is and Nic when ever i hear a review from you pair i just change my mind again. I just about have the funds for a bjcm again!!!! but just love the sound of this luna mix. Norma you do put across such a great discription. I know you must think i am a pest but i am going to ask one last time. Is it good for second pushchair/stroller. Do you think i would be making a mistake with the baby jogger? Is the suspension good on the luna mix. This is the last i will pester you. Promise.

LOVE my lunamix. This is our "big pushchair" and we also have an umbrella fold maclaren basic one. The harness is unusual, but it's so great because DS since he was able to sit up has been able to sit up and look all around in it - the bar across the front is really good, too. It folds really easily and is a tidy fit almost anywhere. And it's all one piece - you don't have to take the seat off like some of the others. it's lovely. The cosytoes zips on easily... the raincover is a bit of a hassle, though. It's just so big. We used the lunamix, laying flat with blankets all around inside when DS was only 6 days old!! It lies flat or sits all the way upright. Steers so easily, too. I absolutely love it.

One word - wonderful! Loved my Luna love the Luna Mix even more, the carrycot would make it a lovely pram for a newborn. I wouldn't use it for a newborn without the carrycot

We have one and I love it!

DS is 3wks old and looks comfy in it. It folds well, fits in the boot of my Polo, steers very well with one hand, easy to recline etc, Great value for money.

Downside- the harness. The harness is odd but we bought a sheepskin liner which has helped. We didn't like the M&P liners!

I used it from about 10m i think and again about 6m ago so would have been about 18m. i wouldn't mind trying it from birth with the soft carrycot?

Thanks, What age did you start to use it at? I know it says from birth but is it suitable from that stage?
