Pushchairs

How the hell do you choose!!!

I'm only 14 weeks so I've got ages before we need to start thinking about buying our pushchair but I've just starting having a look at what's around and it's like a black hole - how the hell does anyone choose one!
DH basically goes round shaking the handle bars on them all to see if they rattle - apparently that's a deal break for him! The only ones that don't appear to do that are Bugaboos. But even then, there's loads to choose from. Do you go for something small and nippy or sturdy but heavier?
But I think iCandy's look so much nicer and can convert to doubles should we need it later - argh!
We live in a small village so need to drive to shops etc but enjoy taking the dog for a walk (although I'm not sure we'd attempt any buggy in the fields!)
Just wanted to know how everyone else came to their decision? We've seen LOTS in the flesh but aren't any better off really. Do you just take a leap of faith and hope you've picked the right one?

Complete leap of faith! We found a bargain Bugaboo package on eBay (second-hand) and just went for it (after checking out reviews of the model online). Baby isn't due until January, so I haven't used it (other than around my living room). However, the quality feels great and it offers us everything we need.

Good luck!

The best way to do it is to decide what you want/need in a Pushchair.
Parent facing or forward facing?
Think about the folding mechanism and fitting in your boot. If you have to do it everyday then you might not be keen on a two piece fold.
Tyres, if you live rurally you might want to consider foam filled tyres over air or hard wheels.
