Selling on ebay

I have a virtually unused Cameleon 3 I am trying to sell - so far with no luck! I've tried Gumtree, Netmums, local Facebook selling pages, and have only had people either show vague interest or stuff me around with no-shows etc. I think it may have reached the point where I need to list it on ebay, but I'd really like to hear from others who have sold prams that way, as I just don't know the best way to go about it.
Thus far I've only used free websites, and have been hesitant about ebay because I know I'll lose a fair whack in fees, both theirs and Paypal's. When selling a high value item like this, is it better to start with a high start price? Or set a reserve price? Or start st 99p? I don't want to risk it only going for £300 or something, but I just don't know the best way of doing things.
Also, who do you recommend to use as a courier? And how do you package up a pushchair for transport? We should have all the original packaging (I think!) but do you do anything else - wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap? I'm completely clueless on this, as I am sure you can tell, and would love any words of wisdom.

I sold my frog on eBay collection only and the buyer wanted to send a courier which I declined. It sold for under £100, however after I cancelled the original transaction I broke it into its component parts and made several hundred quid!

I packaged the frame with bubble wrap and black bin bags. Try parcelmokey for a decent quote. To ship just the frame was under a tenner.

Hmm, that's interesting. I have been assuming that a practically brand new third generation Cameleon would go for a decent price, but maybe I should consider dissecting it!

I sold a Bugaboo Bee on eBay, I agree with you about finding the fees high on an item like a pushchair. I started mine at 99p - my husband always does this when he sells anything and it seems to attract a lot more interest that way. I would recommend starting your listing on a Sunday evening between 7pm and 9pm to run for 7 days, as most people are around to bid then. Or you could start it on a Thursday evening and do a 10 day listing to finish on a Sunday again.

I listed as collection only as I didn't have the box, but offering a courier would open up more buyers for your pushchair. I would probably try and package it as you received it (if you can remember!), or if not then just do as you mentioned and wrap in bubble wrap before putting in the original box.

It was an older 2009 model but I think I got £160 for it and fees were about £16 so 10%. I'm sure they were the Paypal fees rather than eBay though, I can't quite remember! I had bought it on eBay a few months earlier for £150, but I had a footmuff included in that price which I then sold separately for £40. So if you have any Bugaboo accessories I would recommend listing them separately. If you are sending your pushchair by courier you would obviously need to use Paypal, but if the buyer collected then you could avoid the Paypal fees and ask for cash on collection.
