Are iCandy's really worth the money??

Hello,

I have been looking at prams for a few weeks now. I know i want something with a carrycot as with my daughter we only had a 'birth pack' that turned pushchair into a pram style. It was ok and from the outside looked like a pram but it was much smaller and she outgrew it quickly meaning until she was able to use the seat unit she was in the car seat which we didnt like doing.

I have been looking at the oyster but now have seen a few iCandys and they look good. Which is least expensive and are they worth it? Any other good options with a proper carrycot?

Thanks for any help!

I loved my iCandy Cherry which I bought in July 2010. For me it ticked all the boxes: light, compact, good for shopping, good for public transport, comfortable, sturdy enough for long walks, including on somewhat rough terrain. I lost it in unfortunate circumstances when DD was 17 months otherwise I would definitely have gone on using it for another year. I highly recommend it.

We have the apple and we've used it every day since DD was home from hospital, to begin with the size of the carrycot upset her so we rolled a towel lengthways and tucked a blanket over it to keep her in a wee nest. Much much happier.

Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping some of the ones I've mentioned will be available to have a play with at the baby show!

IzzyBizzy - the Vista definitely is about the best pushchair for spec, value for money, what you get in the box, quality etc. I am not sure I have found anything that I think beats it. As for the Sola - dont even start me on how horrible it is. I really can't wait to sell mine on. It's so long open, fills my boot closed, basic fabrics, basic handle and more.

I am glad you are happy DialM :) I love my Peach.

I didn't really want to start a new thread, so apologies for the hijack of this thread, but there was a robbery at iCandy overnight - the 3rd one recently. I just wanted to do my bit to spread the word, and I hope you will pass this along too:

"Last night iCandy HQ became the third recent iCandy robbery victim. The warehouse was broken into and an amount of iCandy products were stolen from our warehouse! The first victim was Baby Box in Wales, followed on by our Irish distributor?s full iCandy consignment being stolen from the back of a truck and now iCandy HQ itself.

We ask everyone to aid us in catching these culprits by making it difficult for them to sell our stolen iCandy products on. We want everyone to turn in to Miss Marples and use their Facebook and Twitter pages to broadcast what has happened and make life as uncomfortable as possible for these unscrupulous characters!

Please only purchase an iCandy product from an authorised iCandy stockist as purchasing though a non-authorised stockist will mean it will not be sold with a warranty so anything could have been done to them before they are delivered to an unsuspecting recipient. Additionally all iCandy products are serial numbered. iCandy pushchairs and carrycots are not sold online therefore products should not be able to be purchased by online means.

This of course is sad news however we will continue to deliver products to our stockists as quickly as possible.
We understand our products are currently in high demand, we just didn?t realise people were that desperate for iCandy that they would physically go through a brick wall! :)

If anybody comes across any suspicious selling of iCandy products please email the details into [email protected]. Thank you, and let?s stop these culprits now!"

I got a Peach following Tiggy 's advice (thanks BTW Wink). Never looked back. I had a Mamas and Papas before which was fine but the Icandy is much much better.

Thanks for the reply Tiggy.I just don't know which I prefer. There is a baby show this weekend that I won tickets to so I am hoping that I can have a play with some prams and see what we like. I want to be using the pushchair until toddler years and not have to buy a new lightweight stroller which is what we did with our first. Spent around £300 on a pram system and then bought a zapp when she was nearly two as the other one was so bulky when folded and was a quite a rickety ride!

I personally love the iCandy's. They have a lovely feel and quality about them. The Peach is my personal favourite but I recently had a Cherry, which is the lowest priced iCandy and I thought for the money it was excellent. The seat is large. The recline is good. The pushchair felt great to push - highly manoeuverable and light but sturdy. The hood is a good size. The pushchair is easy to fold and the chassis is really light to carry - although it is 2 piece fold. I much prefer it to the Oyster - which I have also had. The seating position is better, although its two parts to fold, its just easier somehow and has a lovely feel. The Cherry basket is large. All round, I am struggling to think of anything else in this price range that I prefer. Both of these pushchairs are good choices and the Oyster is good spec for what you pay, so have a good look at that too. This comparison might be useful to you, as well as the individual pushchair pages.
