Problems with Mamas & Papas pram - anyone else?

Hello

I have had enormous problems with my M&P Sport 03 pram and a recurring problem with the wheel baring - having seen some reviews online re the same thing, I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem as M&P are refusing to give a refund or admit fault when there clearly is one.

I had awful problems with M&P with a pushchair I bought which was faulty. They fobbed me off, kept sending the pushchair off to be fixed, then it came back not fixed. It just went on like that for 3 months. Finally I'd had enough and contacted Consumer Direct who were fantastic.

They explained to me that first you have to give M@P reasonable time to fix the pushchair so take it in with a letter saying you expect it to be fixed by X date (Consumer Direct suggested 4 weeks). If it is not fixed by then, or they can not repair it then they must offer you a replacement or if they can't do that a refund.

If you have had the pushchair for a while though the refund can take into account the use you have had out of the pushchair. This is all very long winded and does take time. M@P are useless with Customer Service, but once I said I'd contacted Consumer Direct things moved quicker. The did eventually give me a new pushchair after me and DP turned up in their store at 5.45pm on a Saturday and refused to go till we had one.

I know somebody who's front wheel basically feel of on that model.
How old is the pram ?
Have you got a proof of purchase ?
Basically goods have to be fit for purpose for a reasonable time, for a pram that would be three years. If you can prove you're the original owner, go to the shop with them pram and refuse to move until they refund you on a busy Saturday afternoon. Ideally take your husband, i had a problem with mothercare, they refused point blank to help me, refunded hubby without question and he's smaller than me
Threaten small claims court, talk loudly and quote the consumer credit act, i think 1974 ?
Good luck, i've never had a good experience with an M&P product full stop, not even their furniture.
