Solid wooden bedroom doors

Do solid wooden bedroom doors make much difference to soundproofing? We have standard internal doors (moulded). I can hear DS's every word when he is in his bedroom. Especially when in the room next to his (they are both in an extension so the wall is stud with some insulation for soundproofing - not sure how effective it is as it looked like standard fibreglass insulation).
Is it worth upgrading the bedroom doors to solid wood to improve privacy (for DS) and peace when working from home (me) or will it not make much difference?

Yes, we had to have extra doorbell ringer extensions installed as you couldn't hear the doorbell from the other side of the fire doors!

We have fire doors because of a loft extension and I can't hear the doorbell when I'm the other side of a door from it. It's quite inconvenient actually!!!

Thanks. Do you find they work at stopping noise transfer?

We didn't go for solid wood but did choose some doors that met fire door standards for certain rooms like the living room and study where we didn't want noise to transfer.
