Beko appliances?

Having just seen a thread about the Blue Light card I logged on mine to see if they have appliance discounts as am sorting mew everything for a kitchen renovation.

There's 25% off Beko.

Is this a good brand or not? DH is stuck on everything has to be Bosch but I want to spend less if possible!

Thanks

My first washer lasted 10 years from Beko. It could have been repaired but I replaced it for a different colour. It was abused as I fostered animals for a local rescue and hammered it with grossness and then cloth nappied my children. It really was hammered.

All my current appliances are Beko and now 3 years old. All fine.

I have a beko fridge freezer and washer dryer, both good value, work well, and no issues 5 years on.

I’ve got a Beko freezer in the garage. It’s 16 years old and still going strong.

Years ago, the difference between cheap and expensive white goods were that the expensive ones did more things and had more functions. These days, in my humble opinion, the difference between cheap and expensive is the amount of time they last.

So, nothing whatsoever wrong with Beko, but it won't last as long as some expensive brands. I also used Beko when I redid my kitchen because I changed everything at the same time and wanted to keep the cost down. However, when things start to go, i'll replace gradually with a more expensive brand. You could do that.

We have a beko fridge freezer that has lasted us 10 years so far, planning on replacing it soon as it's too small for a family of four (bought if when we were child less) but will replace with another beko. Our previous dishwasher was also a beko and lasted us 9 years before we upgraded it for a larger ones nothing wrong with the dishwasher but like fridge freezer we needed a bigger one.

We have a beko dishwasher and have just bought a washing machine when our hotpoint packed in. I was always a bit of a snob about them but honestly can't fault them for the price we paid. Very happy.

I’ve had no issues with my Beko combined washer/dryer, but it is only 2 years old so far.

If you’re making a big purchase, might be worth paying for a subscription to Which? Just remember to cancel after the first month.

And Bosch is not as good as it used to be!

I feel like my old beko washer was significantly better than the top of the range miele that I currently have. Sadly the miele will never die so I can't go back to cheap and cheerful (and better!)

I will never buy Beko again. My first Beko fridge lasted 3 years and the second one lasted just over one year. Fridges usually last for years.

They are a budget brand with a history of appliance fires. I would never buy their products.

We have one Beko fridge - bought second hand.

Not sure what the up to date fire risk stats are though

Someone told me that the cheaper Bosch are not as good as the high end Bosch.
Had a Biko fridge / freezer lasted about 8 yrs ok

You're limited if you don't want the fire risk- whirlpool etc were the worst for ignoring their fire risk.

I had a Bosch washer, and replaced it with a much better beko. I tried a belling dishwasher, was crap, and the company replaced with beko for free. I think beko are fine. The best thing is their company is really called something like arselick, and they had to rebrand for the UK market, which makes me laugh.

Our worst ever freezer was Bosch and I vowed never to buy Bosch again as a result. Endless problems which were never resolved.
We've had a Beko one for 5 - 6 years with zero issues. Also happy with Beko fridge and tumble dryer.

I bought a lot of Beko washing machines and driers for work in 2014

It was recommended as a brand as VFM
They were expected to go through some abuse and would be for about 5 or 6 adults per machine, so we went for ‘high use large family’ 8kg specifications, and due to time limits we couldn’t get enough of the chosen model so also got some of the 7kg model.

Without taking any extra warranty’s or support contracts we went on the basis that the abuse would invalidate warranty and that they may as well be replaced on failure rather than paying extra in case of failure.
(And the extra risk that the below spec ones may not last a year)

I’m out of the loop now, but there were some dealt with under the manufacturer warranty, and no major failures. The ‘below spec’ ones have been just as reliable as the full spec

We have a Beko fridge, 2 Beko freezers, one is in the garage as Beko freezers are suitable for low temperature places. We also have a Beko dishwasher which was a Which Best Buy. Happy with them all.
