Morning Sickness All day

Wonder if anyone has any tips on this for me please. I'm 7 1/2 weeks and feeling/being sick most of the time. I wear motion sickness wrist bands, I take Ginger tablets and buscuits. My husband gets me a piece of toast to eat before I get up every morning. I eat regularly small amounts. I feel sick all of the time. If I don't move around slowly, I vomit.

It seems to be getting gradually worse. Don't know what else to try.

Oh, I really sympathise with you. I remember the all day sickness. Mine started at 5 weeks and ended at 16 weeks. My worst time was at about 10 weeks. I was on holiday in the Carribean and it was so hot. I just wanted to be curled up in my bed at home! I lived on plain biscuits for the two weeks as I couldn't face the food at the hotel.

I tried most things - ginger, eating little and often, sipping water, travel bands. TBH not much solved it but it did go away. Hand in there and it will be worth it!

Yeah I'm in the UK, and the Tums and I have already become well acquainted! This is a bit surreal having a conversation over 2 threads

Thanks again, Pie!! By the way, I don't know if you have these in the UK (if that's where you are), but my friend who had a boy (incidentally with a full head of thick black hair) highly recommends Tums for heartburn. She carried a large bottle in her purse and was chewing them constantly.

Keep it up JayJayBump. Sounds like you are doing all the right things and listening to your body. I'm happy to say that I woke up this morning feeling completely fine!! The nausea has lifted and I hear angel singing! Just kidding, it is kind of like that though. It has just gone away, and I'm so relieved.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the advice. This website is new to me and it's just so nice that there are ladies out there in the same position and very helpful, I'm very grateful.

I have for the last 2 days kept using my wrist bands. In the morning my husband (bless him) has given me 2 slices of wholemeal bread with a little butter and small layer of rasberry jam on it (seems to do the trick before getting up gradually). Moving around slower than normal has helped also. When the metalic taste gets bad and I start to heave I have sucked on butter mints. They seem to stop the convulsions immediately. I am making sure that I eat small amounts regularly (found more sick when empty tummy). I have kept topped up drinkwise with Camomile & Lime Flowers (Twinings) Herbal Infusion Tea, it seems to calm the sick feelings and smells lovely. Thanks everyone. I just hope that next week these will carry on working, cross fingers.

I was sick with everything for the 1st four months of both pregnancies and ended up on a drip in hospital both times. The only things i found that were any good at all were bed rest, orange ice lollies, those glucose energy tablets from the chemist and lemon squash. Somebody has since told me that sniffing peppermint is meant to be good. Hope it clears soon as I wouldn't wish this on anybody.

Actually yes my DD's haor was almost 2 inches long think and black when she was born, though it did all fall out and is now a golden brown.

As this is my first with my DH, it maybe even hairer as he is well tufty.

Does your DD have a nice head of hair? I heard that that is what causes heartburn. I'm grateful that I never had heartburn with DD, but she was bald as a cue ball when she was born.

I have one DD, and from what I remember I was sick until about now and then I just had the WORST heartburn for the rest of the pregnancy and this stopped me eating.

I got the heartburn 10 weeks ago this time, so have had both at the same time for the first time. Very unpleasant.

Hopefully though, like you said, your sickness will end next week.

And I know what you mean about feeling fat, I think that all that throwing up makes you bloat up quite a lot, it has done with me.

To think that some women feel sexy when they're pregnant.

Pie - I can't remember how many kids you have. Has the sickness lasted the same amount of time for each pregnancy.
Yes, I am still miserable, but at least I am looking forward to going public at the end of next week (end of week 12). Still not showing, but generally just feeling fat.

Sorry to hear you are still going through it tinyfeet

I'm only being sick once or twice a day so it has certainly got better for me and I'm almost 21 weeks. And the nausea is no longer constant, just comes on very suddenly those couple of times I'm sick.

I have come to conclusion that the only thing that helps is childbirth though

Hi Crazynow, has your sickness ended then or are you still needing to suck mints, etc at 25 weeks? I was sick til week 12 with DD, and I'm hoping it ends next week with this one too.

Sorry folks, I don't know what happend there!! new with computers!! What I was going to say was with my 1st pregnancy I had the sickness all day upto 20wks but nothing seemed to work. I'm now 25wks pregnant and have found that sucking mints and chewing gum helped a lot and if I moved around very slowly also helped, the sickness stopped at around 14wks, which was great for me especially as I have a very active 3yr old. Hope this helps.

Hi all, I agree with jasper. I was given one and had to buy a new mattress and I found my son was only in it for 2 wks and then moved on to a cot. I am expecting no. 2 and will use the same one again, tatty bits an'all!

Sucking/crunching ice cubes helped me. It took away some of the bad taste in my mouth (metallic) and the crunching eased the wretching a little.

Have to say though, nothing stopped it. I was chucking ALOT with both dds until the day I gave birth. Good Luck.

JayJayBump - Don't worry about the fatigue. You will be tired for at least the first trimester. I was so tired that I would fall asleep as soon as I got home from work, in my work clothes! I was too tired to change my clothes and brush my teeth, etc. I joked that I slept through the entire first trimester of my first pregnancy, which is quite true. I slept all weekend long - only getting up to eat meals and go to the bathroom. Don't be surprised that something that works this week may not work next week. By the way, you might try digestives also.

Have had a look at the link nausea. Have written a few more things to try out. Hope they work.

Must admit though, I do feel very tired (not sleeping very well either, always feeling hot).

I think it's the dry wretching all the time as well that's doing me in.

I havn't tried lemon tea yet so I think I'll give that a go firstly.

Thanks

JayJayBump - you really have my sympathy. I felt like that too - just sick the whole day. Things I found that helped were not getting too tired and drinking iced water. Other than that, just try and stick it out - it will get better, and feel reassured that sickness is usually a sign of a healthy pregnancy!

JayJayBump, My experience was that my 7th week was the worst, so hopefully, you're experiencing the worst now and it will all be uphill from here. I had trouble because I couldn't help but vomit - even while at work. Anyway, you should look at the thread: Pregnancy: NAUSEA. You can see what everyone else advises. Personally, I had luck with lemon tea, lemon drops, mints, dry toast. Good luck!
