MAM Bottles?

Don't know if i'm posting this in the right section but 29 weeks pregnant trying to plan ahead!

Has anyone used MAM anti colic bottles? I've heard they sometimes let unsterilized water in and just wanted to see what experiences other parents have with them! Most of what I've heard has been good, and I like the idea of them being self sterilizing as we're already low on storage space. I do intent to breastfeed but want to make sure I have some bottles on hand just in case, and for once i start expressing if all goes well.

Thanks in advance :)

They are excellent. All the components come apart for the microwave self sterilisation. No problems with leaking.

They last as well as you just buy the next size teat up each time rather than a whole new bottle.

You will use them when you move on to formula/ cows milk so they are worth the investment.

I bf and used the microwaveable sterilised ones. Never had any issues. Ds had a bottle of formula a day from 10 weeks old.

I used them with both my DC and they’re brilliant. I always recommend them and everyone I know who has used them loves them too

What do you mean by letting unsterilised water in?

I've been using these since my little girl was born (now 14 weeks). They are really good , we've not had any issues with leaking etc and I find the fact they're self sterilising handy as its saves worktop space for a separate steriliser Smile

Oooops sorry pressed post too early....

Was going to add that they DO suck up water when left in a bowl of water to cool if the lid is on, but if you leave the lid off while the bottle is in the water then this won't happen! So it's easily solved x

@Iminaglasscaseofemotion I'm not entirely sure tbh haha. I think it's something to do with the anti colic holes at the bottom? My sister mentioned it earlier so just wanted to see if anyone had experienced issues with it. I'm FTM so haven't used anything other than the tommee tippee my niece has, and obviously being my niece I've only fed her with those occasionally!

As long as you empty as much as you can of the sterile water out after you have microwaved it, and let it cool a little before assembling, push the rubber seal down properly - no leaking

I used them and loved them. You just need to make sure you assemble them correctly after sterilising.

I use them as well, I think I read somewhere that the holes let water in if you were to put the bottle in hot or cold water to heat up or cool down the bottle. I think the website advises removing the lid to avoid this as then there is no vaccume not sure how practical that is as I'm sure the bottles float.

yes this. we solved the problem of cooling them by buying cheap bottle coolers, the sort you keep in the freezer and pull out when you need them.

Just wanted to jump on this thread and ask it is normal for the bottle to squeak at the bottom when feeding ? Does this mean air is getting in or is it the anti colic system working . Thankyou 😃
