Hi!
I have another question!

What brand of vitamin D does everyone takes during pregnancy, I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and only just been told by my midwife to take vitamin D but I forgot to ask what brand does she recommend during pregnancy and what’s safe?

What brand do you guys take and haven’t had any problems with taking it?

I use Nature’s Aid along with their folic acid tablets. I like them because they’re small and I struggle taking tablets !

I take Boots own brand Folic Acid & Vit D combined Smile

Ahh brilliant! And you’re taking it during pregnancy or have taken it during pregnancy and found it okay?
I’m just a bit paranoid what I’m putting in my body at the moment, probably silly but I can’t help but think better safe than sorry at the min! Haha

Pregnacare multivitamins

Brand doesn't really matter. Minimum recommended is 10ug/400IU. You can take up to 100ug/4000IU

Mine is the boots vitamin d on it's own. Get whatever is cheapest, it's all the same stuff. My midwife told me not to bother with pregnacare etc as it's a colossal waste of money. provided you eat a varied diet, you will be fine with just folic acid (I have the waitrose one at something like £1 a bottle). I stop taking folic acid at 13 weeks, no need to take it after that.

@Newby2021 yes absolutely fine and really important to take during pregnancy, especially with being stuck indoors at the moment !

I did start off with Pregnacare but the tablets are massive and I found they made my morning sickness worse. Waste of money. You don’t need them.

Brill thank you :) I’ve bought the natures aid one now and should be arriving tomorrow so I’ll be taking it from then!

So I’m on high folic acid from the doctors, vitamin D from natures aid and DHA from zita west! (I can’t stomach fish to save my life so getting that in!

3 supplements separately isn’t bad is it?
Oh god sorry just overthinking everything and anything at the moment!

As long as you're avoiding vitamin A then what you're taking sounds fine

Anything liver has vitamin A. So that's off the menu. Including liver oil!! For pregnant women they have fish oil, from the whole fish and not the specific one from the liver

Also don't worry about taking too much folic acid. Its water soluble so your body will take what it needs and you'll pee the rest out. Just in case you can't find vit d on its own and are in a pinch
