I've had sickness throughout this (now 34 weeks) unfortunately and my saviours have been:

Ice cold water. As cold as it can get. I keep a huge bottle of water in the fridge and go through a lot of ice.

Plain digestive biscuits. I hate ginger biscuits but apparently they help too, so you could try both?

Putting my feet in cold water and a cold flannel on my face. No clue as to why my feet being cold helps but it does. And the flannel on my face stops the sweaty sucky feeling.

Plain walls. Probably sounds nuts but nothing has helped me more than sitting in my white, plain tiled bathroom and leaning against the cold tiles and just looking at plain, unmoving white.

And lastly, cleaning my teeth and having a constant supply of mints, usually soft mints so I chewed them. Having something in my mouth seems to stop the feeling of sick coming up.

I hope this helps, and good luck! It's awful but if you can get through this with things to help it will be easier! Feel better soon Thanks

My gp prescribed me cyclizine which has really helped. I ‘put up’ with it weeks 5-8 but finally went to gp on Thursday

I'm the same, nausea all day. I make myself sick when it becomes unbearable and I get relief for a little while then it is back again.

I had mmc in September and if this turns out to be same after all this sickness ill not cope

Not sure if this will work for you but I was looking in to sickness a bit more and someone said their sickness was caused by excess saliva. So all morning I have tried to avoid swallowing and spit in to a towel instead- gross I know but it seems to be working for me so far. Luckily I work from home so no one has to see me doing it!

Eating regularly helps me. I spent a couple of weeks trying to eat really healthily and feeling dreadful and have since discovered that sweet things make me feel better,
Some things I’ve found that work are really cold sparkling water, ginger biscuits, sucking hard boiled sweets.

Gaviscon should help the heartburn, it’s safe to take.

Warm flat coca cola (the full sugar one) was better at staying down than water/squash for me. Some people find eating little and often helps.

Buy some ketone testing sticks from your pharmacy and see your midwife/GP if they are not clear - at 4+ you need hospital admission.

There are a lot of anti emetics available from the gp that are safe to take in pregnancy, but it's finding the ones that work for you.

I wore the travel sickness wrist bands when I was pregnant. Wasn’t a full cure, but certainly took the edge off.

Aw OP im sorry its setting in....I really really suffered.
I tried everything, and in the end was given Cyclizine and I even threw that up...

Wore the bands...

I felt better for about 20 mins after vomiting, but then it would set back in again...

Another vote for going to a GP. I'm almost 9 weeks now and have suffered with debilitating nausea since week 6. I tried coping on my own with ginger and all the other recommendations - ended up barely eating anything, losing 6 kilos and unable to leave the house. GP prescribed cyclizine and it really helped, the nausea is very mild and ad hoc now.

I've been suffering terribly for the last 5 weeks, barely able to take care of myself and my husband has had to learn to cook for himself and the kids. I literally couldn't open the fridge without throwing up. Constant nausea and falling to sleep early eve. I had prepared for this to long continue as with my other pregnancies, it's never stopped before 16 weeks yet at exactly 12 weeks it seems to have switched off despite having a horrific day the previous day. Hopefully this gives you some hope, take each day as it comes and hopefully you'll feel better very soon. X

Oh and to add I was given cyclizine too but it didn't help much for me so I rarely took it in the end. Worth a try though for sure x

Carbonated spring water saved me. And the occasional Capri sun. Aldi do a Greek yoghurt with lumps of real ginger in that's really good if you're hungry but can't eat much.

I just found that trying to eat regularly helped as nausea was worse when hungry. Having something by the bed to eat when waking as my sickness was awful on an empty stomach. Honestly there was no magic cure though. I tried everything, so many people said ginger biscuits, I despise them now because I kept trying them, they don’t work! Mine was relentless until 14 weeks and then only happened occasionally.

Greek yoghurt and sucking milky bar buttons (not biting, and only the white chocolate ones) helped make things a little better.

I found the only things that helped were the cyclizine and an endless supply of ice lollies

I’ve been off work for a week with the most horrendous sickness. Didn’t get on well with cylizine (vomiting trying to swallow a sticky wee pill) but now on prochlorperazine which dissolved on your gum and that me now actually eating again! Grin still ropey, can’t bear anything near my neck, spew as soon as it wears off but at least I can get on with things now. It’s the worst ever Flowers

Cyclizine worked wonders for me. And omeprazole for heartburn - it felt literally like an actual miracle!

i was really (vomiting) sick - it disappeared about 14 weeks. before that the only things I could keep down were sweet things e.g. chocolates and plain biscuits. I couldn't drink without being sick but midwife suggested ice lollies so i made my own with fruit juice. This helped. Can't bloody eat roses and quality street now mind

I was one of those who didn’t go to the gp as I was petrified to take anything while pregnant (completely silly I know). Nothing made it go away but a few things made it better/worse

  • empty stomach made it worse so tried to eat little and often
  • salt and vinegar crisps helped
  • ice lollies as a way of hydrating as even fluids made me sick or nauseas

-really spicy food helped (weirdly)
-orange luncasade - the full sugary stuff. This one really really helped but I was very scared about GD so tried to give in to this craving as little as possible
  • ice cold drinks made it worse - room temperature was much better

Just remember it is temporary - I went through it with both pregnancies and had it pretty bad. Hope you feel better soon

I went to an osteopath who manipulated my neck/head and it used to really help! No idea why or what she did but it was very effective - plus no drugs involved (I was really scared of taking anything when pregnant).
