How old was your LO when they trained?

Title says it all, when did your LO give up the nappies?

3.5 yrs here and we are still getting nowhere :-(

2 years 2 months for dd, and was reliably dry within a week. Poos took abit longer to master but thats completly normal, young children don't like the feeling of poo coming out of them. In pull ups at night but I'd say she wakes up dry 4 or 5 mornings a week now (2 years 4 months)

2.5yrs for my daughter and nearly 3yrs for my granddaughter. I have to say my grand daughter has been much quicker and easier because she’s done it when she was ‘ready’ whereas with my daughter I was actively potty training.

2yr4m day and night straight away, dry at night from day one, dry in day from day 7. Also did oh crap book method.

DD trained at 24 months - both day & night. Just trained DS whom is 22 months. Reliably dry during the day, but not at night yet. Also recommend the Oh Crap Method.

3 and a bit for daytime, but she got the hang of it quickly and only ever had a couple of accidents. Dry most nights now at 3 and a half but still likes to wear pull ups just in case.

My DS was 3 years and 4 months. Started before aged 3. Poos took so long. I was stressed out of my bin with it.

My DD, 2 years, 6 months. They're all so different, try not to make comparisons!

Judging by the replies it does seem like they train later these days and 3+ years seems common place.

3 and a half. Both of them.

DS1 I battled on-and-off for 12 months.
DS2 took a day, maybe two. Perhaps left it longer than I needed, but better than the alternative.

The trick for DS1 in the end was a special colourful loo seat with steps that he wanted to use. A friend told me about a musical potty that cracked her hard-to-train DD. My recommendation: gadgets. And also take a lengthy break if you're getting nowhere.

Eldest was 21 months, dry at night at three and a half and youngest 23 months, dry at night at the same time (she had a bladder like a camel). This was before disposable nappies.

Just before 3 for DD1. We wanted her trained for nursery.

It's easier during summer.... but the best way is to let them go bare bottom. I found that trainers pants don't work at all!

DD2 was quicker. Another trick is to get a toddler (4/5 yo) to teach them. They learn very quick from others kids

My eldest was 3yrs 3mths. Littlest is turning 3 this week and shows zero interest but I'm not worried - it'll happen when he's ready.

Completely gave up first attempt at 2.9. Left it 4 months and did it around 3.2. And he took to it straight away after 3 months back in nappies.

Poos by age 1, out of nappies day time at 23 months, kept her in nappies at night for a few more months as we bedshare and I just couldn't face waking up in her pee! It also gave us the chance to work out a night time strategy, DH now lifts DD out of bed before he goes to bed at midnight and puts her on the the toilet, so that I can go to bed a bit earlier if I wish.

DD was completely dry by 24 months. Started at 23 months and was dry during the day in a week.

My one wees in the potty but still wants nappies for a poo. No signs this will change anytime soon. She's nearly 3 and I am really disheartened by all this.

My 3y10m old is still not reliably dry. My 2y10m old is dry day and night. I think it depends on the child

3.5yrs was reliably dry, (but had been wearing underwear since age2).Sigh, it was a long long struggle. Not dry at night til age5.

22 months. I really recommend the Oh Crap potty training book.

My son was almost 3.

One of his friends has only recently got over a lot of their toilet issues and she will be 4 in Feb.

It does take some children a little longer but that is ok
