Potty training

Day two of potty training and nothing in potty yet- give up or persevere?

Dd is 2 years 8 months and will come and tell me if she needs a nappy change. She seems to understand exactly what to do with the potty/ toilet seat but this is day two and despite helping her to sit on the potty every 20 minutes or so (she sits quite happily) she hasn't done anything and wet her pants several times. I tried about a month ago and she didn't even like sitting on the potty then so I guess we've made a small amount of progress!

She is dc3 and I don't remember 1 and 2 being like this- do I persevere or try again in a few weeks?

Think my gut instinct feels the same... Will give it a couple of tries tomorrow and if no luck will leave it a while!

Ahem. I have not potty trained a child yet. I have however read a book from cover to cover tonight, and done 3 hours of research (aka mumsnetting).

The book I read said there should be more successes than not, so personally, by day 2 I would go back to nappies for a couple of weeks then try again.

I feel the need to reiterate I have no real world experience! But will do by this time next week.....

Shameless bump! Since this post she did use the potty but more by accident than design...
