Am thinking of potty training DS who's 2.8 soon but am bit confused. Everything I've read says go and buy normal pants with DS, but then I discovered washable trainer pants like these Bambino Mio ones www.amazon.co.uk/Bambino-Mio-Reusable-Potty-Training/dp/B00M2RTV3G/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1429903114&sr=1-1&keywords=training%20pants%20bambino%20mio&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21
I am not keen on pull ups and was prepared just to stay in for a week and go for it, as he has good control and poos at the same time each day pretty much.
These sound like a good idea as a bit more protection and he'll feel he's wet. Bit of an outlay though. Do you use them all the time or just on car journeys etc?? Better than pull-ups (I don't mind the washing as have washed reusables in the past). Any experiences/ advice helpful thanks!

I just have two pairs of plain white ones, they were from Boots. I would imagine they'd all be much the same, and the Bambino Mio ones have nice designs!

I think they are a good idea, I tend to use them if we're going somewhere where I can't be dealing with a puddle on the floor (like a Tumbletots class or similar). Your DS would still end up with wet trousers, but between the abosrbancy of the pants and of the trousers too they do keep the floor dry!

DD1 was quite happy to wear them without questioning that they weren't normal pants. I too don't like pull-ups but I did have one pack and when I tried putting one on DD1 she said "why are you putting this nappy on me?"
