Potty training

3 Years and 2 months and DOES NOT GET IT

Ds was 3 in September and we recently started potty training for the second time . It's not going well and it's just causing tension and ds is definitely naughtier as a result . He will happily use a potty or stand up for a wee at the loo but he never ever ever tells us that he needs a wee or a poo and if he does wet or pooh himself , he will never tell us . He's so bloody lazy. We are having at least 3 accidents every day and that's only a low number because we take him to the loo every 1-2 hours. 90% of poos end up in his pants . I know I shouldn't compare him BUT all the other children in his room at nursery and his rugby group and his close friends are all toilet trained . He doesn't have additional needs and is a pretty average crazy 3 year old boy . I just want to cry . I don't feel it will ever end . Shall I stop and wait till he's really interested or keep going ?

Aaaghhh i'm in the same place, mine was 3 in october - we live in France and thus he can go to school, but they have to be 'clean'. Weird thing is he seems to be fine at school, only a few accidents. But at home we're regressing! it's doing my head in... we have the charts with smiley faces, potties all over the place, adapter seats on the loos, books by the loos, we ask him frequently if he needs to pee... don't know whether to start punishing him - i know normally that's so the wrong thing to do, but i'm at a loss.... he doesn't seem to care... the smell of wee around me seems to be constant and the washing, wiping up and scrubbing sofas and carpets is driving me mad...
Sorry bellini, not much help to you, but does anyone else have any ideas??

Has he shown any interest or are you pushing because panic has set in?

Would a more relaxed approach work, giving him the tools, the potty pullup and seeing you go and just letting him go when interested?

for us this is a process that's been going on for months! done the whole leaving it to him, waiting for him to be interested etc... he was doing ok but recently seems to have regressed... maybe it's a testing phase - currently a BLOODY NIGHTMARE to get to bed too.... as i write i have "MUMMY MUMMY" being screamed down the stairs then running footsteps...
