Potty training

Trained except at nursery and then HELD IT IN ALL DAY :-0

I read the "trained except at nursery" post and was eagerly awaiting tips as this was my exact problem.

THEN yesterday morning DD and I had a little chat and she agreed definitely not to wee in her pants but then told me she didn't like the potty at nursery and would only wee at home. I sort of ignored this bit and encouraged her saying that the potty at nursery had the same bear on as hers etc. etc.

She didn't want to go with me at nursery before we set off back home and when we got back home she mildly said "need wee wee" and sat down to do the MOST ENORMOUS very dark wee Shock.

When I asked her did she do wee wee at nursery she said "no!"

Shock

I don't think she likes the potty there very much and she refuses to go on toilets anywhere else. I was fine with this as we've only really just started but - any advice? as holding it in all day seems a bit severe.

Will it do any harm? She can hold it in longer than me!!

No experience at all, but could she take her own potty from home to nursery?

Thanks beany! I think it would work and the thought had also run through my mind BUT what happens when we're somewhere else that's not nursery and not home. I can't take the potty everywhere as it's a huge throne-like one we got from a very kind freecycler! I had decided against it as she needs to learn that there are other places that it's ok to wee. Perhaps I will reconsider.

Have a look at the "My Carry Potty" you literally can take it everywhere.

I just sold mine actually otherwise you could have had it (we took it out a lot and DD never used it as decided she preferred the toilet Hmm

They aren't cheap but for you it sounds like it could be a god send.

Also if you do get something like this buy a pack of nice shiny stickers or something and let your DD decorate it, if you involve her in the whole process she might be less reluctant to trying it out (it also comes with a little book and sticker chart)

Good luck.
