Potty training

ds weeing for attention!

Has anyone got any tips to get ds1 (2 yrs 11months) to please stop weeing for attention, it's exasperating! DS2 arrived 4 months ago and we expected regression with ds1's toilet training and boy we got it! We've tried everything: reward charts, enthusiasm, cheering, taking him every 1/2 hour as we did in the beginning of his training, telling off, getting him to help clear up the mess, almost pleading with him to stop weeing on the floor and go on the toilet. He knows what he's doing, and he knows how to go to the toilet as he will also do this happily but it's a 30/70 split (the 70 is wetting his pants). At nursery he will announce his intentions of weeing on the floor and make a show of it. At home he will wait until I am bf DS2 and then let loose. He loves his new brother and talks about him positively so I'm not too worried. Just really really fed up of mopping up wee and washing pants. :-(

Hi there

Am sure someone else will come along but in my experience that's very young to train a boy - I waited until my boy was 3.5/4

Maybe take the pressure off and try again in six months ?

juju I wish I had seen your post sooner because we are going through the same thing folloing arrival of No2 with DS aged 3.1. I'm afraid I have no hints or tips because i feel like we have tried everything with no success- I can offer support tho.
Im just hoping now that time will sort things. I'm trying to make accidents as boring and disruptive to play as i can whilst normal toilet trips as done quickly without fuss.
Let me know if you found any magic solution.
Good luck
