He is terrified without it.

School has the tiny toilets, when he did his visit he wouldn't look at them.

He is only doing 2 hours Tue and Thur this week so will probably not go but starting every afternoon the week after.

Got a week to get it sorted - anyone had a similar problem?

Buy another one to leave at nursery or take it in with you?

I did this. It really helped, and she doesn't want or need it now.

  • The toilets are not that tiny, but DD is quite small for her age and as well as needing a step the seat made her feel more secure.

I don't think they have big toilets, just the small ones.

Good idea to get him to balance on the bath, I will try that.

We bought an extra one (cheap from wilkos) for nursery to keep. To be fair, they asked us to bring one in each day cos dd2 is so tiny she was struggling with the tiny toilets.

oh, and she used the big toilet at nursery with her seat!

dd did this - I had to carry around a bright pink toilet seat for a year! She was terrified about falling into the loo, and eventually I had the brainwave to get her to sit on the edge of the bath, balancing and dangling her legs down. Like you would on the toilet.

But I would speak to the nursery and not try force the issue.
