Potty training

Question about Night Time - asking for wee wee

My son's doing fab on potty training so far, never accidents at home, went today out and about for 3 hours and was fine. Still early days (second week) and when we put him down for bed at night half an hour later he is calling out for a wee wee.

I'm really conflicted as to whether we should be taking him, we do and he does produce a small wee and we don't reward it at night time (have been using choc buttons in day) - but sometimes this happens a few times a night and is a bit frustrating as he was going 12hr stretch before. His nappy still soaked in morning and after naps.
Thanks!

DS is at the same stage. We keep a potty in his bedroom, and if he claims to want a weewee after lights out, I go in, I don't turn on the lights, I don't make any eye contact or do any fun interaction (just remind him that it is sleepy time but it's ok to get out of bed if there is a wee that wants to come out) just get him onto the potty and then say "tell me when you are finished" and leave the room so that it is utterly boring in there. After a couple of minutes he will say "I made a wee" or "finished" and I'll go in and get him back into bed (no round of applause or rewards of course!)

We developed this and it seems to work, because we were convinced he was using a claim to need a weewee as a way to postpone sleep and we need to refuse to play that game.

Thanks! As it happens I think he was just playing up and trying to stay up, as the next night he called out for me but when I came in he looked confused and then asked for water haha. We will still take him if he asks though but hopefully he wont for a while!

I'd keep taking him. Maybe it's just a reasurance thing, but if he's not playing up and just trying to get a later bedtime, I'd go with the flow (no pun intended!) The important thing is that he's gaining the bladder control, recognising when he needs to go.

I'd say he's doing very well, just two weeks in!
