Ok...after some deliberation I've decided to Le DS have a go at this potty lark! He's 22 months and been peeing and pooing in potty when he gets up/before bath for about a week, and so, I reckon he's telling me he's probably ready to give It a bash.

So...this morning has been broad a successful start : 3 hits, 1 miss and one half in floor and half in potty.

But!! He cannot pull up and down pants very effectively himself. And much as he likes them when they are on, he doesn't like them on at all when on the potty (eg. Round knees or ankles), and his only ''accident" was when wearing them. I'm wondering if we should just go bare bottom for a few days...but I'm also wondering how to better teach him to pull down pants?

Has anyone else's child struggled with the dressing element attached to potty training and still been successful?

Can't help but 22 month DD is exactly the same with the clothes, absolutely cannot have them on to go on potty or loo. And today after lots of poos on the loo (training seat) she's in pants for the first time and no accidents yet. Not really sure if we're going for it now or not, for same reason - she can't actually take herself to the potty and isn't great at telling me, I have to ask/take regularly. Be interested to see what others say.

Oh and bare bum for us means wee on the floor. I'm trying to go with "you're wearing girl's pants which means wee wee in the potty".
