Food for children is a waste of money Grin

I disagree with all pp who think food for children is a waste of money.

Except none of the PPs on this thread have said they think food for children is a waste of money...

*scrapping. Stupid phone.

She has indeed. I think the whole scrapper of winter fuel allowance has been cancelled too. She just can't make her mind up!

Signed. I disagree with all pp who think food for children is a waste of money. I think funding the royals is.

Has she Nina? God, I'd be so pleased! I love a TM U-turn.

There is no stigma. Children have no idea who gets them, only staff do. We know who the pp kids are in order to ensure they get what they are entitled to. Are you suggesting all children should have the same in other areas as kids on pp?

TM has done a u turn and is no longer scrapping them. There was an article in the independent earlier.

Very sad attitudes here, and the next step is of course defining who should and should not be eligible. Ie who is poor enough or who is the right kind of poor. Fsm for everyone, yes please. To avoid any stigma.

Sorry no. Free School Meals should be for those that genuinely need it, not everyone.

I'm not signing and one of my children benefits from this. I don't see why they did it. It's not expensive to make a pack up you can do it for under £5 a week if you need too. I have no problem paying for my children's lunches I don't need the govt to pay for it. The money should be used for those who actually need it.

They manage to means test for CB.

Free school meals for all- from 4-16/18,Shockand which money tree would the fundage for this be coming from? Ignoring the fact that the majority don't need them anyway.

*their - damn autocorrect

Report
LittleBooInABox · 20/06/2017 18:36

I won't be.

It should be means tested. The irony here is hilarious, rich people should give up there homes, but got free meals for there kids. I can't even!

Means test it. Those who are able can pay or send it pack up. Those who can't afford it will still get it.

Report
EpoxyResin · 20/06/2017 18:36

Absolutely, means testing would be an ABHORRENT waste of money, and all to avoid giving a free lunch to a child whose parent might just be able to squeeze they're finances that little bit further.

Huge waste of money so no sorry

Report
EpoxyResin · 20/06/2017 18:33

I'm signing. Not least because scrapping them would be a scandalous waste of money; means testing is EXPENSIVE! But mostly because I think it's absolutely right to offer ALL children free school lunches, regardless of whether their parents would be deemed "needy" enough by the same government which has deemed so many "able to work" who have gone on to die shortly after.

No chance...complete waste of funds. There are a hundred other things education related on which the money could be much better spent.

I won't be. I would rather my kids fsm was given to someone that needs it. Perhaps even breakfast and lunch for those in need.
