Bexsero men b vaccine - day 3

Hi everyone, I looked through old posts about this vaccine and others say their baby was fine after 48 hours in all cases.

It's the 5 month one - (In France anyway) and he's just got it at 7 months because we were in the UK for a few months.

I'm waiting on the paediatrician phoning me, but wondering if anyone else had an experience similar. It's been exactly 72 hours, fever bounces around (due to paracetamol) from a normal 37- much higher 39.5. He hasn't been eating semi solids at all since, and drinks about 50% his usual milk. Projectile vomited half his night time bottle yesterday. Really doesn't want to drink much.

I can still make him laugh and he's alert/ doesn't seem to want to go to sleep as per.

Anyone have it go beyond the 48h and how long did it last?

I hope your son is ok! Did you establish if there was a link to the vaccine in the end? I'm going back and forth about the Men B vaccine. Also, was he given multiple vaccines at once. For example, could the stomach issues have been caused by Rotavirus?

So it’s maybe not the vaccine (I realise this is more a journal now as it’s only me) but today is day 6 of temp between 38.5-39.7 before paracetamol.

My main worry is he’s really lost weight this week and I can only get him to drink milk if I feed him while he’s already half asleep. /I used a pipette to squirt some in his mouth - 300-550ml total in 24 hours is what I’ve managed to force him into. He normally has double.

m going to the paediatrician again today in an hour but I really don’t know what it could be. Husband and I are fine…

Sorry I’m new to MB and I think this was posted in the wrong place? I haven’t had more than a few hours sleep since Monday.

Paediatrician said it’s not the vaccine- must be something he caught from crèche. (This Vaccine produces mild fever typically not >39)

he’s vomiting his milk back up and just really not interested in it. That with diarrhoea is really worrying me about dehydration.. anyone have experience of babies with vomiting bugs? He’s had the gastroenteritis vaccine :/
