Angel care bath support or the Shnuggle bath

FTM here. For a newborn what would you suggest? We are limited in space and have a regular bath. I already have a little stool I can sit on next to the bath.

Just no idea how to choose!

Both. The shuggle bath is really good up to 3 months ish and the angel care bath support. They both come up often on Facebook selling pages so buy second hand and sell on so it won’t cost you much at all.

I’ve just stopped using the shnuggle one at just over 10 months. I loved it! We could probably still use it but we needed more space for toys 😁

I’m surprised it lasted 10 months but my children are long and DD2 took to pushing down on her toes to push herself out of the shuggle.

Use the Shnuggle as for the angel care you need to run a full size bath, whereas the Shnuggle uses less water. Love our Shnuggle!

We used one of those baby shaped sponges for ours. I couldn't work out how the hold them with one hand and bath with the other. Found it easier to lie them on the sponge, in a shallow bath, and then had two hands free

The Shnuggle is great, especially in winter because you can fill it up deep enough to keep baby warm but using very little water (so it fills in seconds and is light to lift). With any bath support that goes in the big bath, you end up using a or more water than necessary to fill it up even a few inches.

However the Angelcare bath seat (sit up version, not reclined), from 6 months is brilliant to transition to the big bath.

We used one from Neat Nursery which fits on the top of the big bath

We used a Snuggle for our first and this time (second DC) thought we would go straight to the Angelcare, but, one emergency c-section later and we got the shnuggle down from the loft as bending into the bath would have been too difficult.

We had the shnuggle and it was great, DS had his baths in there until he was almost 1. A friend offered us an Angelcare support, but we preferred the idea of him being able to sit up properly.

Shnuggle for sure. It’s more flexible - you can use it in the bath or in another room, and needs less water to fill. Only downside is the size of it but it’s only around for a few months and you can easily sell on.

We used the shunggle until our baby was about one then he just transferred into the normal bath. Don't buy one new though, like everything else, buy second hand. Initially we had it on the toilet seat and then we had to put it in the actual bath as he started splashing too much.

We had the Nuby newborn bath. It was excellent with a built in support, smaller water capacity (good news for water bill and much lighter and easier to carry / empty). It's about £15 so a good price too.

If putting a support in an adult bath, remember that you need quite a lot of water for a newborn so that they're submerged (well, just their body Grin) and don't get cold.

We got the angel one but didn't use it. We just lie baby flat in a shallow bath. They love laying back and kicking to make splashes.

Another vote for Shnuggle.

Thanks everyone! That's nice and clear. Shnuggle is is.

I would get both but because of space one is best I'll keep the Angel seat in mind for the next stage. Now to stop myself buying the stand to go with it - I feel like I won't really use it!

Thanks again.

Definitely don't bother with the stand. My son used to rock it quite a lot when he was splashing so tbh I think the stand would be useless aside from when they're really small. And when they are that small you can just put it on the toilet seat or other suitable surface like a cabinet.

I don’t think the seats for 6+ months are recommended anymore due to safety ( some have tipped over when suckers came off)

Tbh we are just using IKEA baby bath still at 8 months as it was £8 and baby fits fit still sat up, and takes 1 min to run.

I would get the schnuggle in future though as it would be easier to bath small baby alone with the wedge sit part

Schnuggle. We don't have an adult sized bath (walk in shower) so we have the toddler sized schnuggle one and it's brilliant too.
