What would you like for Mother’s Day?

I know it’s not in the spirit of Mother’s Day and obviously I want to spend the day with my children but if you could ask for an actual gift what would you ask for? Or what gifts have you had that you loved?

I have two under two and would love something personalised, or maybe something indulgent, doesn’t have to be expensive.
My DH normally panics and will throw money away on gifts if left to his own devices so I would rather ask for something from the boys. We are away with family on the day so breakfast in bed etc are out!

Gin.

WutheringFrights · 16/03/2019 19:29

Honestly - I would like someone to clean the house, decorate my kitchen, bathroom, our bedroom, the hallway and DDs bedroom and then cook me a fabulous steak for dinner.

And gin...

PotteringAlong · 16/03/2019 19:30

Time. If I’m honest, love them as I do, the best present would be to spend it entirely by myself Blush

WutheringFrights · 16/03/2019 19:31

In reality I’d like something cute and crafty (not tacky) that the kids have put thought into .... I don’t need stuff ...

londonloves · 16/03/2019 19:32

I would like a bunch of tulips and 10 hours straight sleep

claracluck78 · 16/03/2019 19:34

I would love a country walk and some hand picked flowers. Barring that, I would like some simple flowers.

I am so materialistic IRL usually but with 5 year old boys I just want something pure from their heart. (Kinda surprised myself there!)

Justcarrymehome · 16/03/2019 19:34

I would like someone to do my uni assignment. I am so confused with it and it’s stressing me out.

Failing that a long lie and a new travel coffee mug.

JoyceDivision · 16/03/2019 19:34

I have a first ever dance show for Dc who is in high school so now way of fudging my way out of it.

I will be sat in a hall mist of the day.

I would love a pedicure. I.love my feet being firmly grabbed and massaged Blush

The best Mothering Sunday I had was a walk along the beach and fish and chips, the weather was lovely too.

Redrupunzle · 16/03/2019 19:40

I'd like my to take the kids out for a walk for an hour or so so I can have a cuppa and watch some shit in peace on my own before I make us a nice lamb dinner.

Won't happen as it's lambing time on our farm so realistically I'd like it to be sunny while we're flat out working. A card and some daffodils from the garden would be nice

Redrupunzle · 16/03/2019 19:41

*my husband

OnlyYellowRoses · 16/03/2019 19:57

Just a full nights sleep. Uninterrupted until I wake up naturally by myself

CaseofEllen · 16/03/2019 19:58

I'd like my DS to arrive before then! Due 21st March and midwife has said they will induce me at +10 if he's not here, which is Mother's Day Confused if he is here then I'd just like a meaningful card chosen by DP and my favourite chocolate!

Babdoc · 16/03/2019 20:02

My DDs are grown up, but they’re coming up for the weekend with DD1’s partner and we’re going out to a concert and a meal.
It’s lovely to have the house full again and my best bit of Mothers’ Day is always to spend time with them. I used to love the wonky home made cards they made as children, too!

Fantababy · 16/03/2019 20:03

DC2 will be arriving just before then so I just hope I'm out of hospital! (And can have a very very small Wine)

theSnuffster · 16/03/2019 20:03

I'd like for them to take over all the housework i'd usually do on a Sunday- laundry, general tidying, getting uniforms etc ready for the week ahead. And to make me a coffee in the morning then cook for me in the evening. Not a chance though as OH is working and the children aren't old enough to do all that.

I'm not fussed about gifts but if they get me anything I'd like it to be useful like new pyjamas or maybe a vase as one of mine is chipped.

hazzysmoozy · 16/03/2019 20:04

To check in a hotel for 48hrs by myself

MistressDeeCee · 16/03/2019 20:10

DCs are in their 20s now. They get up do all the housework then we go out for a meal, they'll choose somewhere that also plays music as that's what I like, doesn't have to be anywhere fancy. DP will pick us up, drop them home then we go out for a drink

Can't think what gift I'd want as I only equate Mothers' Day with cards. Never done gifts & actually I don't know anyone who does.

Sleep. Lovely, lovely sleep...

Njh1986 · 16/03/2019 20:52

A whole night of uninterrupted sleep, a day out just my OH, DD and I and an M&S melty middle chocolate pudding 😍

FTMF30 · 16/03/2019 20:53

I'd just like a full day to myself tbh.

Ragwort · 16/03/2019 20:56

I’m another one who would just like a day completely to myself, I am torn because I have elderly parents who I will probably invite over but I expect my own DM would also like a day completely on her own too Grin.

RJnomore1 · 16/03/2019 21:18

I’d like

A star is born on DVD
Celtic to win the old firm game
A nice meal and a chance to watch the dvd together with a glass of wine

I think all may be possible

emwithme · 16/03/2019 21:38

A bunch of tulips.
A tacky "My mummy is the best" mug (it's my first Mother's Day)
A bath.
