I would really like to start reading to my 10 month DD more. Does anyone recommend any nice story book/s i can buy?

My baby likes the lift the flat type books, so The Spot books are good. And the 'That's not my .......' So they can get involved.

Something short with not too much text. My 13month old loves the "That's not my" books and the "Peekaboo" life the flaps book. Definitely try and get the board type books as they can turn the pages themselves (much harder with paper at this age)
Another favourite is "peepo baby" which I think we got free with bookstart

My 10 month has a book called Small, Smaller which he is obsessed with. It has bits that move. I have to read it about 5 times in a row

Any lift-the-flap book is good due to the peekaboo aspect. Doesn't matter what subject really though I do agree Thats Not My... are good, and Dear Zoo is nice, also Spot is an old favourite. But anything like that is good. Julia Donaldson's Tales from Acorn Wood is a good early series for babies/young toddlers as well.

Ditto anything by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. Also the Julia Donaldson Acorn Wood lift the flap books - Postman Bear, Rabbit's Nap, Fox's Socks etc.

my six month old loves the very hungry caterpillar at the moment he's also keen on anything with a mirror in it as he loves 'talking' to his reflection.

reading to a baby is the best! have fun OP!

Just wanted to mention another couple of lovely books that we have - Happy and Forever by Emma Dodd. I bet her other ones are lovely as well. They make me cry every time I read them!

Me... by Emma Dodd is lovely too. "The world is big but I am small.. the biggest thing in the world to you is me" .

Also, as others have said, Peepo, Each Peach Pear Plum by the Ahlbergs.
Dear Zoo, That's not my... books, Peeps Baby, Baby Touch (which is squeaky), Spot books. We had a Gruffalo touch hook which was feel and a very short version.
When a little bit older, Can't you sleep Little Bear was another favourite that I can know by heart.

All the above are great. My little one likes stories with a strong rhyming meter. Hairy McLairy is a favourite as is What the ladybird heard. Less well known is a publisher called little tiger press or little tiger books which has a series called Zoom, Roar, and Hoot which he loves. They also have one called Baby Day which is about the baby routine and has cute babies on each page that he likes to kiss. Not rhyming but good, and especially good for dealing with separations, is A Bit Lost by Chris Haughton. It's about a little lost owl. When he finds his mummy my DS cheers and claps.

She also has some of my old books- her favourites are this is the bear and the picnic lunch and good night, good night (sorry I can't remember the authors!)
